"Peningkatan jumlah penduduk di Indonesia tidak diimbangi dengan kebutuhan pangan di Indonesia. Kehadiran hidroponik dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan SDG (Sustainable Development Goals), yakni dengan menurunkan angka kelaparan dan meningkatkan riset dan teknologi yang berkaitan dengan produktivitas agrikulutur.  Melalui skripsi ini, penulis berfokus pada implementasi langsung alat pada industri sekaligus membandingkan dua platform mikrokontroler yakni Microchip PIC-IoT dan ESP32 sebagai dasar pengembangan sistem hidroponik. Melalui pembuatan alat serupa dengan perbedaan pada mikrokontroller, penulis hendak menganalisis spesifikasi alat, perbedaan kinerja, dan kemudahan pengembangan untuk mengevaluasi kecocokan keduanya dalam mencapai tujuan optimal untuk implementasi hidroponik berbasis IoT. Dimana melalui penelitian ditemukan bahwa penggunaan PIC-IoT jauh lebih baik dalam implementasi industri karena lebih robust. Namun peranan ESP32 juga tidak kalah penting sebagai basis dasar pembuatan prototipe sekaligus media pembelajaran yang baik untuk pemula.

The increase in population in Indonesia is not matched by the need for food in Indonesia. Hydroponics can solve the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) problem by reducing hunger and increasing research and technology related to agricultural productivity.  Through this thesis, the author focuses on the direct implementation of the device in the industry and compares two microcontroller platforms, namely Microchip PIC-IoT and ESP32 as the basis for developing hydroponic systems. Through the creation of a similar device with a difference in the microcontroller, the author wanted to analyze the device specifications, performance differences, and ease of development to evaluate the suitability of the two in achieving optimal goals for the implementation of IoT-based hydroponics. It was found through the research that the use of PIC-IoT is much better in industrial implementation because it is more robust. However, the role of ESP32 is no less important as a basic base for prototyping and a good learning medium for beginners."
