"Perkembangan teknologi modulasi dan transmisi gelombang merupakan tulang punggung bidang komunikasi modern. Didalam perkembangannya, teknologi komunikasi berevolusi dari teknologi komunikasi generasi awal yang sederhana dan pemanfaatannya dibatasi oleh jarak diantara pemakai jasa komunikasi, menjadi teknologi komunikasi modern yang menuntut pertukaran informasi yang semakin cepat dan tidak terpengaruh oleh adanya jarak yang terbentang diantara pemakai jasa komunikasi. Selain kualitas data yang dikirim, komunikasi modern juga menuntut adanya sistem keamanan pada proses pengiriman data, agar data yang bersifat sangat rahasia tidak boleh diketahui oleh pihak yang tidak berwenang, analoginya adalah jika keamanan data tidak terjamin, maka sistem yang kita buat dapat menjadi sesuatu yang tidak bermanfaat lagi. Modulasi Spread Spectrum adalah salah satu metode keamanan pada proses transmisi data. Keunggulan teknik modulasi spread spectrum adalah dapat menolak interferensi pada gelombang transmisi dan dapat mereduksi densitas energi gelombang transmisi dan dapat digunakan pada modulasi digital berbasis FSK, ASK dan PSK. Tujuan skripsi ini adalah merancang dan menganalisa sistem Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Koheren BPSK dengna menggunakan simulink Matlab 7.6 untuk menghasilkan suatu simulasi sistem komunikasi yang memiliki performa sebaik modulasi Koheren BPSK dengan kualitas dan keamanan data yang terjaga dari manfaat implementasi sistem spread spectrum. Hasil analisis dari simulasi sistem Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Koheren BPSK menunjukkan bahwa dengan semakin memperpanjang rangkaian urutan shift register pada generator polynomial dari PN Sequence Generator yang digunakan pada sistem DSSS Koheren BPSK akan semakin meningkatkan keamanan sistem.

The development of modulation and transmission technology are the backbone of modern communication technology. Communication technology evolve from simple and short range user application from early generation of communication technology to modern communication technology that have very high speed and very vast range user application. Furthermore, in modern technology, besides the quality and speed of data transfer process, the security system is also becoming one of the major issues and highly demanded in modern communication technology. Furthermore, if there is no security system which can secure every valuable data from transmitter to receiver, it means the communication system is becoming much less useable.

Spread Spectrum modulation is one of many method that can be used to build a secure transmission data process system. The advantage of spread spectrum is this method prevent the transmission wave from interference, reduce the spectral power density and can be implemented in every digital modulation base on FSK, ASK and PSK.

The purpose of this final assigment is to design and to analyze Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Koheren BPSK system by using simulink Matlab 7.6 in order to design a simulation of communication system which have BER as good as Koheren BPSK modulation and good security in transmission data process as an advantage of spread spectrum implementation in digital modulation.

The result from Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Koheren BPSK communication system simulation is a high value of total binary digit from shift register circuit in generator polynomial in PN Sequence Generator used in Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Koheren BPSK communication system will increase the security of every valuable data from transmitter to receiver in Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Koheren BPSK communication system."
