"Menentukan rerata kadar Protein C-Reaktif sensitivitas tinggi (hs-CRP) pada penyakit jantung koroner, hubungan antara kadar hs-CRP dengan luas lesi koroner dan fungsi sistolik jantung. Telah dilakukan penelitian observasional dengan disain potong lintang terhadap 106 pasien penyakit jantung koroner yang meliputi 90 angina pektoris stabil, 11 angina pektoris tidak stabil dan 5 infark miokard akut. Dilakukan pemeriksaan kadar kuantitatif hs-CRP, angiografi koroner untuk menentukan luas lesi koroner dan ejection fraction. Rerata kadar hs-CRP pada luas lesi koroner SVD 5,5 ± 7,6 mg/L, DVD 6,6 ± 21,7 mg/L dan TVD 5,5 ± 8,0 mg/L dengan p=0,056. Tidak didapatkan hubungan bermakna antara kadar hs-CRP dengan luas lesi koroner. Fungsi sistolik jantung mempunyai korelasi negatif dengan kadar hs-CRP (p=0,015, r = -0,235). Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kadar hs-CRP tidak dapat menggambarkan luas lesi koroner, kadar hs-CRP mempunyai korelasi negatif dengan fungsi sistolik jantung. (Med J Indones 2003; 12: 201-6)

To determine the mean value of high sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-CRP), association between plasma level of hs-CRP with extent of disease and systolic function. A cross sectional study had been conducted to 106 coronary artery disease patients (90 stable angina pectoris, 11 unstable angina pectoris and 5 acute myocardial infarction). Plasma quantitative level of hs-CRP with cor angiography to determine extent of disease and ejection fraction were measured. The mean of hs-CRP levels in patients with SVD were 5,5 ± 7,6 mg/L, DVD were 6,6 ± 21,7 mg/L and TVD were 5,5 ± 8,0 mg/L and p=0,056, respectively. There were no significant association between hs- CRP levels with extent of disease. Systolic function had negative correlation with levels of hs-CRP (p=0,015, r=-0,235). This study showed that plasma level of hs-CRP cannot reflect the extent of disease, and it had negative correlation with systolic function. (Med J Indones 2003; 12: 201-6)"

"Protein adalah salah satu unsur dalam makanan yang terdiri dari asamasam amino yang mengandung unsur karbon, hidrogen, oksigen, nitrogen, dan belerang. Identifikasi protein selama ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode spektroskopi konvensional misalnya spektroskopi UV-Vis dan metode Kjeldhal. Kedua metode ini membutuhkan persiapan sampel yang lama dan rumit, serta biaya yang mahal. Hal ini karena harus dilakukan pemisahan protein dari makromolekul yang lain yang tidak diinginkan dalam analisa. Spektroskopi FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) merupakan salah satu metode baku untuk mendeteksi struktur molekul senyawa melalui identifikasi gugus fungsi penyusun senyawa. Identifikasi protein dilakukan dengan menganalisa serapan gugus fungsi dengan Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi protein dengan FTIR, dan mengenali puncak dari protein.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari ke-empat sampel (keju hewani, keju nabati, susu dan mentega) protein dapat dikenali dengan tiga peak yaitu amida III (1240-1265 cm-1) , amida IV (633-721 cm-1), dan amida VI (551-586 cm-1). Peak untuk amida III mewakili gugus CN stretching dan NH bending, amida IV mewakili gugus OCN bending dan amida VI mewakili gugus out-of plane NH bending. kadar protein relatif per karbonil untuk susu, keju hewani, keju nabati, dan mentega adalah 0,67, 1,37, 2,17, dan 1,70 dengan kadar protein 9,47 %, 19,08 %, 30,67 %, dan 24,03 %.

Protein is one of the elements in food which consists of amino acids that contain carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur. Identification of the protein had been done using conventional spectroscopic methods such as UV-Vis spectroscopy and Kjeldhal methods. Preparation of the sample for both methods were long enough, complicated, and expensive. This was because had to do separation of proteins from other macromolecules that are not desirable in the analysis. FTIR Spectroscopy (Fourier Transform Infra Red) is one of the standard methods for detecting the molecular structure of compound through the identification of functional groups that make up the compound. Identification is done by analyzing the absorption of the functional protein by Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). The aims of the research are to identify protein by FTIR, and describe their peaks.
The results of the research show that of four samples (cheese, vegetable cheese, milk, and butter), proteins can be identified by three peaks, that are amide III (1240-1265 cm-1), amide IV (633-721 cm-1), and amide VI (551-586 cm-1). Peak of the amide III represents the CN stretching and NH bending, amide group IV represents the OCN bending, and amide VI represents out-of plane NH bending. Protein relative levels per carbonyl for milk, cheese, vegetable cheese, and butter are 0.67, 1.37, 2.17, and 1.70 with a protein content of 9.47%, 19.08%, 30.67% , and 24.03%.

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara asupan karbohidrat, protein dan lemak dengan kadar C-Reactive Protein pada pasien kanker paru stadium IIIB-IV. Progresivitas kanker paru dipengaruhi oleh sistem kekebalan tubuh, faktor genetik dan respon inflamasi. CRP sebagai salah satu marker inflamasi dapat diandalkan sebagai salah satu parameter untuk memprediksi perkembangan kanker. Subjek didapatkan melalui consecutive sampling yang melibatkan 49 subjek kanker paru stadium IIIB ndash; IV yang tidak sedang menjalani terapi di RS Kanker 'Dharmais'. Hasil penelitian didapatkan rerata usia 55,82 12,26 tahun, sebanyak 63,3 berjenis kelamin laki-laki. Nilai median CRP yaitu 23,82 0,30 - 207,29 mg/L. Pada penelitian ini tidak ditemukan adanya korelasi yang bermakna antara asupan karbohidrat dengan kadar CRP serum p = 0,919 , asupan protein dengan kadar CRP serum p = 0,257 dan asupan lemak dengan kadar CRP serum p = 0,986 . Kesimpulan: pada penelitian ini tidak didapatkan korelasi antara asupan karbohidrat, protein dan lemak dengan kadar CRP serum sebagai penanda perkembangan kanker.

The aim of the study was to determine the correlation between carbohydrate, fat and protein intake with the serum C Reactive Protein level in lung cancer patients stage IIIB ndash IV. The progression of lung cancer is influenced by immune system, genetic factors and inflammatory response, therefore CRP can be relied as one of the parameters for predicting cancer cell growth. Subjects were recruited by consecutive sampling, 49 subjects with lung cancer stage IIIB IV who currently not receving any treatment in Dharmais Cancer Hospital participating in this study. The mean age of subject was 55,82 12,26 years old and 63,3 were male. The median value of CRP was 23,82 0,30 207,29 mg L. This study did not showed significant correlation between carbohydate, protein and fat intake with serum CRP value p 0,919 p 0,257 p 0,986, respectively. In conclusion, there is no correlation between carbohydrate, protein and fat intake with serum CRP level in lung cancer stage IIIB ndash IV."

Plasma C-reactive protein (CRP) concentrations are increased in obese individuals, in this study, we examined the correlation between hsCRP and left ventricular mass (LV mass). Fourtyfive healthy obese women and fourty five healthy non obese women as the controls group were studied by echocardiography and hsCRP. There was no significant correlation between hsCRP and left ventricular mass in obese women (r=0,29, p 0,06). There was a significant correlation between hs CRP and body mass index fr= 0.46, p 0,002), and also hsCRP and visceral fat (r= 0.33, p 0.03). (Med J Indones 2006; 15:100-4)"

"Psoriasis vulgaris merupakan penyakit inflamasi kronik kulit yang didasari oleh proses imunologi. Derajat keparahan psoriasis vulgaris dinilai secara klinis dengan penilaian body surface area (BSA) dan psoriasis area and severity index (PASI). Inflamasi kulit pada psoriasis vulgaris diperankan oleh berbagai sitokin inflamasi yang dapat meningkatkan inflamasi sistemik dan aktivasi trombosit. High sensitivity c-reactive protein (hs-CRP) sebagai penanda inflamasi sistemik serta mean platelet volume (MPV) sebagai penanda aktivasi trombosit diduga dapat dijadikan prediktor derajat keparahan psoriasis vulgaris. Penelitian ini berdesain observasional analitik potong lintang. Setiap subjek penelitian (SP) dengan psoriasis vulgaris yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dilakukan anamnesis, pemeriksaan fisik, dan perhitungan derajat keparahan psoriasis vulgaris dengan PASI dan BSA. Selanjutnya, dilakukan pemeriksaan kadar hs-CRP dan MPV. Dari 32 SP, didapatkan korelasi positif tidak bermakna antara hs-CRP dengan BSA (r=0,118; p=0,518) dan PASI (r=0,322; p=0,073). Korelasi negatif tidak bermakna ditunjukkan antara MPV terhadap BSA (r=-0,035; p=0,848)dan PASI (r=-0,035; p=0,848). Korelasi antara hs-CRP dengan MPV tidak bermakna (r=-0,178; p=0,329). Nilai hs-CRP dan MPV tidak memiliki korelasi bermakna terhadap PASI dan BSA sehingga tidak dapat digunakan sebagai prediktor yang spesifik untuk keparahan psoriasis vulgaris.

Psoriasis vulgaris is a chronic immunologic inflammatory skin disease. The severity of psoriasis vulgaris is clinically-assessed by using body surface area (BSA) and the psoriasis area and severity index (PASI). Skin inflammation in psoriasis vulgaris is played by various inflammatory cytokines that can perpetuate systemic inflammation and platelet activation. High sensitivity c-reactive protein (hs-CRP) as a marker of systemic inflammation and mean platelet volume (MPV) as a marker of platelet activation are thought to be predictors of psoriasis vulgaris severity.
This is a cross-sectional analytic observational study. Each subject with psoriasis vulgaris who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria underwent anamnesis, physical examination, and assessment of PASI and BSA, then examined for hs-CRP and MPV levels.
Among the 32 subjects, a weak insignificant positive correlation was found between hs-CRP and BSA (r=0.118; p=0.518)and PASI (r=0.322; p=0.073). A weak negative insignificant correlation was shown between MPV and BSA (r=-0.035; p=0.848) and PASI (r=-0.035; p=0.848). No significant correlation was found between hs-CRP and MPV (r=-0.178; p=0.329
The hs-CRP and MPV levels ​​do not have a significant correlation with PASI and BSA, therefore cannot be used as specific predictors of psoriasis vulgaris severity.
