"Hingga saat ini, inovasi di Asia masih merupakan subjek yang belum menjadi perhatian utama banyak pihak. Namun demikian, banyak perubahan telah dan sedang terjadi di Asia dan inovasi akan menjadi mesin utama penggerak pertumbuhan ekonomi di wilayah ini. Pertanyaannya, bagaimana manajemen inovasi di negara-negara Asia Tenggara; bagaimana manajemen inovasi pada perusahaan-perusahaan di Asia Tenggara? Bagaimana Indonesia mengejar ketertinggalannya? Dalam konteks ini, satu-satunya cara untuk terus hidup dan makmur di pasar adalah dengan melakukan inovasi. Tulisan ini menunjukkan konteks manajemen inovasi di Asia dan faktor yang mempengaruhi implementasi manajemen inovasi di wilayah ini. Penulis menunjukkan faktoryang menghambat implementasi inovasi dan faktor organisasional yang memfasilitasi pelaksanaan salah satu prinsip manajemen inovasi, serta bagaimana integrasi organisasi dapat berefek langsung terhadap kinerja inovasi. Tulisan yang dikembangkan dari hasil studi De Meyer & Garg (2005) dan studi eksplorasi penulis diakhiri dengan kesimpulan tantangan dan peluang manajemen inovasi di Asia dan skenario riset lanjutannya."

"Summary: "Preface Theory to Practice Advancing the "science, processes, and art of public administration" has long been a central animating purpose of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). Such a mission today involves practitioners and scholars providing answers to what is arguably the central animating question facing societies worldwide: how, when, and with what implications for the values treasured in a democratic republic can we best harness for public purposes the dynamism of markets, the passion and commitment of nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations, and the public interest-oriented expertise of the career public service at all levels of government. But dialogue between practitioners and academics has increasingly become the exception rather than the rule in contemporary public administration circles. With this set of challenges in mind, the then-new PAR editor Richard Stillman and managing editor Jos Raadschelders generously asked me to develop a feature for the journal that would be tailored to the information needs of practitioners while simultaneously affording scholars state-of-the-art summaries of the status of current research. As such, my interrelated aims as editor of Theory to Practice (T2P) were fourfold: Afford opportunities for academics, practitioners, and pracademics to inform each other's work in the hope of advancing both practice and theory building in public administration, Facilitate cross-disciplinary, cross-sectoral (public, private, and nonprofit), and cross-professional exchanges that break down contemporary tendencies toward fragmentation and "stovepiping" of knowledge applicable to both practice and theory"

"The article explores opportunities and challenges for Indonesia and ASEAN stemming from the rise of China based on the following approaches: (1) Indonesia neighbors china, therefore, China's growing economic and political clouts have significant influence to Indonesia; (2) Indonesia and China experienced difficult relation in their history, but successfully turned it into a strategic partnership; (3) The rise of China also has influence to ASEAN, which claims itself to be the driving force of the regional agenda and dynamics; (4) ASEAN is a vehicle for Indonesia's policies in the region, including in engaging China. Following the line of approaches above, this article first describes the rise of China. It will explore China's foreign policies in the region as well as the magnitude of its economic potentials. Afterwords, it it will describe the development of Indonesia-China bilateral relations and take a closer look at the Joint Declaration of Indonesia-China Strategic Partnership. This article also tries to see in particular to what extend Indonesia-China economic relations deliver benefits to Indonesians. Lastly, it will explore the dynamics of ASEAN-China relations, especially Indonesia's interests in ASEAN vis a vis China."
