"Teknologi akustik sangat bermanfaat terutama dibidang perkebunan yaitu untuk mendeteksi kematangan buah seperti misalnya buah melon, karena buah ini sangat digemari oleh masyarakat. Pengukuran tingkat kematangan buah melon ini menggunakan sensor suara yang dikendalikan oleh mikrokontroller dengan tampilan LCD dan program Labview 2011. Pengukuran ini dilakukan dengan mengukur besar diameter buah melon, nilai amplitude dan kecepatan rambat gelombang suara yang melewati daging buah melon. Pendeteksian ini menghasilkan tingkat amplitude dan kecepatan perambatan suara yang berbeda beda tergantung dari tingkat kematangan buah melon. Buah melon termasuk kategori matang apabila besarnya persentase amplitudo yang ditransmisikan 22% sampai 61 %, setengah matang 63% sampai 75% dan mentah 65.2 % sampai 89%. dan besarnya kecepatan gelombang suara pada buah melon lebih kecil dibandingkan dengan buah melon setengah matang ataupun mentah yaitu 556m/s sampai 1111m/s, melon setangah matang 1000m/s sampai 1020 m/s dan melon mentah 1209 m/s sampai 7500 m/s.

Acoustic technology is very useful especially in plantation is to detect the ripeness of the fruit, such as melon, because the fruit is very popular. The measurement of the melon fruit maturity level have been done using the sound sensor which is controlled by a microcontroller with LCD display and Labview program 2011. This measurement is done by measuring at the large diameter of the melons, the value of the amplitude and velocity of sound waves passing through the melon flesh. This show that the propagation speed of the acoustic sound different depending on the level of maturity level of the melon. The melon is categorized ripe if the magnitude of the amplitude of the transmitted wave is approximately 22% - 61 %, 63% - 75% for half cooked melon, and 65.2 % - 89%. is for raw melon. The magnitude of the sound speed in ripe melon is 556m/s - 1111m/s, while in half ripe melon is 1000m/s - 1020 m/s d and for raw melon is 1209 m/s - 7500 m/s.
