"This book covers cutting-edge findings related to uncertainty quantification and optimization under uncertainties (i.e. robust and reliable optimization), with a special emphasis on aeronautics and turbomachinery, although not limited to these fields. It describes new methods for uncertainty quantification, such as non-intrusive polynomial chaos, collocation methods, perturbation methods, as well as adjoint based and multi-level Monte Carlo methods. It includes methods for characterization of most influential uncertainties, as well as formulations for robust and reliable design optimization. A distinctive element of the book is the unique collection of test cases with prescribed uncertainties, which are representative of the current engineering practice of the industrial consortium partners involved in UMRIDA, a level 1 collaborative project within the European Commission's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). "Metode desain perkerasan landasan bandar udara dibagi menjadi dua, yaitu metode empiris dan metode mekanistik. Terdapat pergeseran dalam sistematika mendesain landasan, yaitu dari sistem metode empiris ke metode mekanistik, perlu dilakukan kajian mengenai pengaruh dari pergeseran tersebut terhadap desain landasan bandar udara - bandar udara di Indonesia, baik terhadap bandar udara baru maupun bandar udara yang sudah beroperasi (overlay), begitu juga pengaruh pergeseran tersebut terhadap perhitungan nilai PCN (Pavement Classification Number).
Metode empiris dilakukan perhitungan berdasarkan metode FAA dengan dokumen 150/5320-6D dan metode mekanistik berdasarkan dokumen 150/5320-6E yang diaplikasikan dengan program komputer FAARFIELD (Federal Aviation Adminstration Rigid and Flexible Iterative Layer Design), sedangkan kajian perhitungan nilai PCN dengan metode teoritis atau metode ICAO dan dengan program komputer COMFAA berdasarkan dokumen AC 150/5335-5C. Kajian banding terhadap parameter desain yaitu tebal perkerasan dan biaya, analisis sensitivitas dan perhitungan PCN yang menghasilkan kriteria, pelayanan nilai PCN terhadap ACN dan pelayanan nilai modul pesawat.
Metode empiris adalah surface oriented sedangkan metode mekanistik adalah base oriented. Berdasarkan analisis sensitivitas pada desain perkerasan baru maupun overlay, baik dengan metode empiris maupun metode mekanistik, struktur perkerasan metode mekanistik lebih tipis, dengan penumpang yang diangkut dengan pesawat modul 200 (kelas pesawat 5) dari pada dengan pesawat modul 350 (kelas pesawat 6). Nilai PCN, yang dihitung dengan program COMFAA lebih besar nilai nya dari pada yang dihitung dengan Metode ICAO, baik untuk perkerasan baru maupun overlay.

Method of runway pavement design is divided into two, namely empirical method and mechanistic method. There is a shift in the systematics of designing the runway, from a system of empirical method to the mechanistic method, necessary to study about the effect of the shift to the design of the runway - the airport in Indonesia, both to the new airport and the airport is already operating (overlay), as well as the effect of the shift to the calculation of the value of PCN (Pavement Classification Number).
Empirical calculation method based on the method of FAA documents 150/5320-6D and mechanistic method based document 150/5320-6E applied to computer programs FAARFIELD (Federal Aviation Adminstration Rigid and Flexible Layer Iterative Design), whereas the study by PCN value calculation of theoretical methods or ICAO method and the computer program COMFAA based document AC 150/5335-5C. Assessment appeals against the design parameters are pavement thickness and cost, sensitivity analysis and calculations that generate criteria PCN, PCN value of the ACN services and aircraft services module value.
The empirical method is surface oriented while the mechanistic method is base oriented. Based on the sensitivity analysis on pavement design new or overlay, either by empirical methods and mechanistic method, pavement structure mechanistic method is thinner, with passengers transported by plane module 200 (Aircraft grade 5) of the plane module 350 (Aircraft grade 6). PCN value, which is calculated by the program COMFAA its value is greater than that calculated by the ICAO method, both for new pavement and overlay.

"Diaturnya ketentuan Pasal 2 ayat (2) Undang-Undang Desain Industri No. 31 Tahun 2000 (“UU DI”) yang tidak mengatur ukuran jelas mengenai batasan tidak sama dari sebuah desain yang baru menyebabkan timbulnya inkonsistensi penafsiran penilaian kebaruan Desain Industri di Indonesia. Ditambah pengaturan penilaian substantif ditentukan hanya dilakukan apabila terdapatnya sanggahan sebagaimana dalam Pasal 26 ayat (5) UU DI. Kondisi tersebut akhirnya menciptakan celah terjadinya pendaftaran Desain Industri yang tidak baru dan memungkinkan terjadinya sengketa kebaruan Desain Industri. Dengan begitu penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meneliti bagaimana ketentuan penilaian kebaruan Desain Industri sebaiknya diatur agar tercipta kepastian hukum. Penelitian ini juga akan dilihat dari prespektif hukum desain Uni Eropa dan Perjanjian TRIPs sebagai perbandingan untuk mengetahui bagaimana sebaiknya ketentuan perundang-undangan Desain Industri khususnya mengenai nilai kebaruan diatur. Dalam melakukan penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode penelitian hukum normatif dengan menggunakan bahan pustaka seperti peraturan perundang-undangan, buku-buku teks hukum serta jurnal sebagai bahan acuan dalam menganalisa permasalahan ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini didapati bahwa pendekatan yang lebih tepat digunakan dalam menilai kebaruan Desain Industri di Indonesia yaitu pendekatan perbedaan signifikan. Sebab pendekatan tersebut lebih sesuai dalam menilai apakah suatu desain yang dibuat benar-benar memiliki suatu kreasi baru atau tidak. Kemudian guna mewujudkan ketentuan penilaian Desain Industri yang memberi kepastian hukum maka upaya yang perlu dilakukan diantaranya berupa merubah pengaturan pasal yang mengandung ambiguitas seperti dalam 2 ayat (2) UU DI serta mempertimbangkan untuk mengadaptasi mengenai syarat karakter individu yang terdapat dalam hukum desain Uni Eropa agar meningkatkan persyaratan pendaftaran desain. Dengan begitu suatu desain tidak hanya harus baru namun juga harus memiliki karakter khas yang membedakan dengan desain lainnya.

The provisions of Article 2 paragraph (2) of the Industrial Design Law No. 31 of 2000 (“ID Law”) which does not set clear limits on limits not the same as a new design causes inconsistencies in the interpretation of the assessment of the novelty of Industrial Designs in Indonesia. In addition, substantive evaluation arrangements are determined to only be carried out if there is objection as stated in Article 26 paragraph (5) of the DI Law. This condition eventually creates a loophole for registration of Industrial Designs that are not new and allows for disputes over the novelty of Industrial Designs. In this way, this research was conducted to examine how the provisions for assessing the novelty of Industrial Designs should be regulated in order to create legal certainty. This research will also be seen from the perspective of European Union design law and the TRIPS Agreement as a comparison to find out how the provisions of Industrial Design legislation should be regulated, especially regarding the value of novelty. In conducting this research the authors used normative legal research methods by using library materials such as laws and regulations, legal textbooks and journals as reference materials in analyzing this problem. The results of this study found that a more appropriate approach is used in assessing the novelty of industrial design in Indonesia, namely the significant difference approach. Because this approach is more appropriate in assessing whether a design that is made really has a new creation or not. Then, in order to realize the provisions for evaluating Industrial Designs that provide legal certainty, the efforts that need to be made include changing the arrangement of articles that contain ambiguity as in 2 paragraph (2) of the ID Law and considering adapting the individual character requirements contained in European Union design law in order to improve design registration requirements. That way a design must not only be new but must also have a distinctive character that distinguishes it from other designs."
