"The deliberative systems approach perceives public deliberation as a broad system that encompasses diverse communicative practices and emphasises the connectivity and interdependence of its components, division of deliberative labour and functions, and how crucial components interconnect to enhance the deliberative quality of the system. Drawing on deliberative systems theory and the epistemic approach to democracy, this study investigated the controversies surrounding a development project in the traditional Thao territories of the Sun Moon Lake region, with the objective of exploring epistemic oppression and how citizen action performs functions of deliberative systems and deliberative power. The study shows that the Thao tribe’s narratives and testimonies of their life have not been valued, multiple forms of epistemic oppression, and the decoupling problems that exist between empowered spaces and other components in deliberative systems. To combat epistemic oppression and coercive power and safeguard traditional territories and cultural subjectivity and continuity, the Thao tribespeople and civic society"

"Communication Sciences and Disorders: From Science to Clinical Practice is included in the 2015 edition of the essential collection of Doody’s Core Titles. Communication Sciences and Disorders: From Science to Clinical Practice is an excellent introductory text for undergraduate students enrolled in their first course in communication sciences and disorders. Written by experts in the field, this text contains basic information about speech disorders that are related to impairments in articulation, voice, and fluency; language disorders in children and adults; and hearing disorders that cause conductive and sensorineural hearing losses. It includes basic information on the speech, language, and hearing sciences and practical information about assessment and intervention practices. Unlike some other introductory text books, this book also includes chapters on multicultural issues, deafness, dysarthria, and dysphagia."

"Research and theory related to the teaching and learning of grammar have made significant advances over the years. In applied linguistics, our understanding of language has been vastly broadened with the work of corpus-based and communication-based approaches to language study, and this research has made pathways into recent pedagogical grammars. Also, our conceptualization of language proficiency has shifted from an emphasis on linguistic form to one on communicative language ability and communicative language use, which has, in turn, led to a deemphasis on grammatical accuracy and a greater concern for communicative effectiveness. In language teaching,we moved from a predominant focus on structures and metalinguistic terminology to an emphasis on comprehensible input, interaction and no explicit grammar instruction. From there, we adopted a more balanced approach to language instruction, where meaning and communication are still emphasized, but where
form and meaning-focused instruction have a clear role.Current research in grammar instruction involves investigations into the effect of teaching grammar explicitly or implicitly, reactively or proactively, and integrated in the curriculum at one point in time or sequentially (Doughty, 2002). Findings from SLA have also shown that the processing constraints underlying
certain development a lorders (e.g., negation)cannot becon travened(Doughty, 2002) and that the optimal conditions for processing meaning, function and formin language learning are still to be discovered. All these developments have implications for how grammatical ability needs to be"

autisme."
