"This book explores how the Quad Plus mechanism is set to reshape the global multilateral economic and security co-operations between Quad partner countries and the rest of the world.
With the Quad partners – Australia, India, Japan and the United States – seeing deteriorating ties with China, the book provides a holistic understanding of the reasons why Quad Plus matters and what it means for the post-COVID Indo-Pacific and Asian order. It goes beyond the existing literature of the global Post-COVID reality and examines how Quad Plus can grow and find synergy with national and multilateral Indo-Pacific initiatives. The chapters analyze the mechanism’s uncharacteristic yet active approach of including countries like South Korea, Israel, Brazil, New Zealand and ASEAN/Vietnam for their successful handling of the pandemic crisis, thereby reshaping the new world’s geopolitical vision.
A unique study focused solely on the intricacies and the broader dialogue of the ‘Quad Plus’ narrative, the book caters to strategic audiences as well as academics researching International Relations, Politics, and Indo-Pacific and Asian Studies."

"The 'long nineteeenth century' (1776-1914) was a period of political, economic, military and cultural revolutions that re-forged both domestic and international societies. Neither existing international histories nor International Relations texts sufficiently register the scale and impact of this 'global transformation', yet it is the consequences of these multiple revolutions that provide the material and ideational foundations of modern international relations"--

One of the main focuses of the study of International Relations is war and peace, which tend to be placed in a dichotomous manner. However, in the post-Cold War era, there were acts of aggression which were commonly called the grey zone because they neither show peaceful characteristics, nor qualify as war. This research finds four core themes that characterize the development of the grey zone in the study of International Relations, namely the conceptualization, the tactics within it, the actors involved and their behavior, and criticism of the grey zone itself. A review of 45 literatures using taxonomic methods found that the grey zone represents the space of state competition between war and peace and below the threshold of direct armed violence; has tactics that still not able to de-escalate the conflict, but affirms its character; see actors and their behavior as one of the most important factors in the development of grey zone  topics; and has criticism that is increasingly relevant due to its inconsistencies, political elements, and biases that surround it. This gray zone concept still has shortcomings so that this study needs to be developed more objectively and effectively in the future."
