"Kendal merupakan salah satu dari sekian banyak daerah di Indonesia dengan kondisi tanah lunak. Tanah lunak kerap menimbulkan permasalahan konstruksi akibat sifatnya yang memiliki konsistensi lunak, kadar air tinggi, gaya geser kecil, dan memiliki daya dukung yang rendah. Upaya perbaikan tanah lunak yang populer adalah vacuum preloading. Kekurangan metode perbaikan ini adalah dapat dihasilkannya deformasi lateral ke arah dalam pada tepi area pekerjaan. Pemodelan vacuum preloading dengan penambahan beban timbunan dilakukan melalui perangkat lunak Midas GTS NX untuk meninjau deformasi yang terjadi. Parameter dan model tanah diolah dari data sekunder Laporan Akhir Pekerjaan Penyelidikan Tanah untuk PT Geoforce daerah Kendal. Tiga model dibuat untuk mensimulasikan tiga jenis konstruksi yang berbeda : 1) vacuum preloading saja, 2) vacuum preloading kemudian diberikan timbunan, dan 3) vacuum preloading disertai pemberian timbunan. Output yang dihasilkan dari ketiga model tersebut adalah pembacaan probe inclinometer. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan pekerjaan vacuum preloading secara parallel dengan pemberian timbunan menghasilkan deformasi lateral terkecil dengan pengurangan deformasi sebesar 20 mm terhadap deformasi akibat vacuum preloading saja. Penambahan timbunan setelah vacuum preloading menghasilkan penurunan deformasi sebesar 10 mm. Perbandingan pembacaan inclinometer model terhadap inclinometer pekerjaan vacuum preloading di lapangan menghasilkan hasil yang cukup berbeda dalam kedalaman sehingga perlu peninjauan lebih lanjut.
Kendal is one of those place in Indonesian coast in which soft soil exhibits vast area. Soft soil often causes problems in construction due to its property. Soft soil requires a handling before one can construct a building or pavement there. A popular method to improve soft soil is by using vacuum perloading. This method has a drawback that it can produce inward lateral deformation in its perimeter of the work area. Vacuum apreloading is then modelled using Midas GTS NX with addition of embankment load to study the effect of embankment to lateral deformation of soil. Parameters and models used in this study were processed from secondary data ‘The Final Report of Soil Investigation Work for PT. Geoforce in Kendal Area.’ Three models were created : 1) vacuum preloading work only; 2) vacuum preloading work then a surcharge load is added to the work area; and 3) vacuum preloading work along with surcharge loading in work area. The output of the three model is estimated by using an inclinometer probe model. The study results show that using a surcharge load along with the preloading can reduce inward lateral deformation. The parallel work reduce the deformation up to 20 mm, while if the surcharge load applied after vacuum preloading done it resulted in 10 mm deformation reduction. Comparing the readings of the inclinometer probe model and data acquired in the field shows that the results are quite different in some depth that the model need to be evaluated further."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan eksperimental dan numerik terhadap perilaku mekanis struktur pagar keamanan tingkat tinggi skala penuh dengan melakukan eksperimen pengujian statik untuk menguji kemampuan struktur pagar menahan beban sendiri dan gaya tarik dengan memperhatikan karakteristik properti material dan memberikan beban sesuai dengan tahapan konfigurasi pembebanan tertentu sampai struktur pagar dapat berdeformasi. Penelitian ini menawarkan penyelidikan komprehensif terhadap aspek eksperimental dan numerik dari kinerja statis struktur pagar dengan keamanan tinggi, menjembatani kesenjangan antara pemahaman teoretis dan aplikasi praktis di bidang rekayasa infrastruktur keamanan. Hasil pengujian statis antara lain mencakup penilaian kekuatan tarik, deformasi dan defleksi. Hasil prediksi menggunakan software mengenai defleksi dan mode kegagalan diharapkan sesuai dengan hasil eksperimen, menunjukkan bahwa metode elemen hingga (MEH) secara akurat mensimulasikan prediksi pengujian aktual di lapangan.
The focus of this research is on investigating the mechanical behaviour of full-scale high-security fence structures through a combination of experimental evaluation under static loading conditions and numerical investigations using the StaadPro (FEA) application with linear analysis. A full-scale experiment using a 12-meter-lengths High Security Fence was conducted to explore key mechanical performance aspects aimed at enhancing the security and reliability of high-security fence structure. This experimental evaluation assesses the structural performance of the High Security Fence under static loading conditions, considering the characteristics of material properties and applying loads according to specific loading configurations until the fence structure experiences grand displacements, providing insights into stress distribution, deformation patterns, and identifying potential structural vulnerabilities. These experimental findings served as a crucial foundation for developing accurate numerical models. The integration of experimental data and numerical simulations bridges the gap between theoretical analysis and practical applications, enabling informed decision-making regarding material selection."
