"This book was inspired by the general observation that the great theories of modern physics are based on simple and transparent underlying mathematical structures – a fact not usually emphasized in standard physics textbooks – which makes it easy for mathematicians to understand their basic features. It is a textbook on quantum theory intended for advanced undergraduate or graduate students: mathematics students interested in modern physics, and physics students who are interested in the mathematical background of physics and are dissatisfied with the level of rigor in standard physics courses. More generally, it offers a valuable resource for all mathematicians interested in modern physics, and all physicists looking for a higher degree of mathematical precision with regard to the basic concepts in their field."

Dengue fever is one of the most rapidly spreading mosquito-borne diseases in the world.
Since the use of dengue vaccines is still debatable in many countries, dengue control
mainly depends on vector control measures. One of the difficulties of dengue vector
control is the detection of vector breeding sites. To improve the accuracy of dengue
vector control measures, a study on hot spots of dengue is conducted. In this research,
hot spot refers to a site which is potentially became an epidemic source of the disease. By
applying hot spot analysis, it is possible to detect areas with high risk of dengue outbreak.
We analyze dengue incidence in Jakarta using geospatial data of dengue fever incidence
in the region on year 2016 calculated by district. Getis-Ord Gi* statistic is used as the
tool for conducting hot spot analysis. This method requires a parameter in the form of a
weight matrix representing the possibility of dengue spreading from one district to other
districts. The weight matrix is generated using Queen’s Contiguity, inverse distance, and
radiation model weight matrix. The results of the study could show the area which has the
highest potential of being a vector breeding site at a district level. The map visualization
generated by the hot spot analysis will help public health officials achieve greater accuracy
in dengue control measures. We expect that this research can be a scientific back up for
the real implementation of dengue prevention in the field.

"The amateur astronomer's guide to the deep-sky catalogs is a single compilation of the historical and modern astronomical deep-sky catalogs. It discusses their origins, compares what's in them, explains how to interpret the data they contain, and even outlines how readers can create suitable 'custom' catalogs for their own use. The last section provides a set of three deep-sky catalogs created by the author, for observers of different levels of experience, from newcomer to expert."

"This thesis presents results of Submillimeter Array (SMA) and Very Large Array (VLA) studies of massive star formation regions in the early stages of ionization, as well as an analysis of numerical simulations of the evolution of these young HII regions. The results favor a picture in which very massive stars form in accretion flows that are partially ionized and that keep accreting material from their environment."
