"ABSTRAKSkripsi ini menganalisis budaya praktik layanan di Perpustakaan Kota Yogyakarta,sebagai perpustakaan yang berada di bawah pemerintah yang mengedepankan standarpelayanan publik. Termasuk pustakawan dan pengguna dalam membangun budayatersebut serta nilai-nilai sosial yang mendasari terbangunnya budaya tersebut.Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode etnografi. Data penelitiandiperoleh melalui hasil observasi partisipan yang dituangkan ke dalam catatanlapangan serta dokumen Perpustakaan Kota Yogyakarta. Peneliti mencoba menggalibagaimana budaya layanan yang terbentuk melalui pola-pola interaksi antarpustakawan, antar pengguna, maupun antara pustakawan dan pengguna dalammemenuhi kebutuhan masing-masing pihak. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwabudaya yang muncul atas hubungan antar pustakawan memberikan energi yang baikkepada pustakawan dalam menjalankan tugasnya sebagai penyedia kebutuhaninformasi pengguna.

ABSTRACTThis focus of this study is the cultural services in Perpustakaan Kota Yogyakarta, as aninstitution which is part of the government that promote public services. Including theway of librarians and users in constructing culture. Moreover social values thatunderlie the culture also covered. This research is qualitative ethnography interpretive.The data were collected from participant observation that poured into field notes andalso from Perpustakaan Kota Yogyakarta’s documents. Researcher try to explore howcultural services is formed through the interaction patterns between users, librarians,and between users and librarians in meeting the needs of each party. The conclusion ofthis research is the culture that emerges on the relationship between librarian providegood energy to librarians in performing their duties as the provider of user informationneeds."
