"Ralph Waldo Emerson, the third son of William Emerson and Ruth Haskins, was born in Boston, Massa_chusotts, on May 25, 1903. William Emerson was a Unitarian minietor, a founder of the Philosophical Society, an active member of the Massachusetts Historical Society, an editor of the Monthly Anthology, and a chaplain of Massachusetts State Senate. He died in 1811, leaving five sons: William, Edward, Robert, Charles and Ralph Waldo. One of them, Edward, was mentally retarded. Ralph Waldo Emerson started school when he was two years old. Ho went on to a grammar schoool and then entered the Boston Latin School when he was ten. In 1817 Emerson entered Harvard College. He graduated in 1821, barely in the upper half of his class. Neither his mates nor his professors saw in him any indication of future greatness. But at Harvard he had begun his journals in which he deposited thoughts and quotations to be drawn upon later as needed."

"Skripsi ini membahas tokoh utama dalam lakon Bedah Lokapala. Lakon ini dipergelarkan oleh Ki Manteb Sudarsono. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan citra tokoh utama, khususnya tokoh Rahwana dan Danapati dalam lakon Bedah Lokapala. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analitis. Teori struktural Levi-Strauus dan langkah kerja Henry Tarigan (1985) digunakan untuk menganalisis unsur-unsur drama, yaitu alur, tokoh, dan latar. Dasar pengertian dari KBBI (2011) dan dukungan pendapat Wellek & Warren (2013) digunakan penulis untuk menyorot dan membuktikan citra dari analisis alur, tokoh, dan latar.

This Thesis discusses the main character in Lakon Bedah Lokapala. The play were staged by Ki Manteb Sudarsono. The aim of this research is to describe the main character?s image, especially Ravana and Danapati in Lakon Bedah Lokapala. This research using a descriptive analytical method. Levi-Strauus structural theory and action steps from Henry Tarigan (1985) was used to analyze the elements of drama; the plot, characters, and background. Basic understanding of KBBI (2011) and the support of Wellek and Warren (2013) opinion is used to highlight and prove the image from plots, characters, and background analysis."
