"Pinokio merupakan sebuah karakter yang sangat dikenal dari bagaimana dia belajar menjadi anak laki-laki sungguhan. Ceritanya juga sangat terkenal dengan keunikan dari hidung tokoh utamanya yang dapat bertambah panjang ketika dia berbohong. Formula cerita ini secara terus menerus digunakan dan dapat ditemukan dengan mudah di seluruh adaptasi Pinokio. Namun, apakah cerita Pinokio hanya tentang menggambarkan hidung Pinokio? Film tentu menawarkan banyak aspek lain yang dapat dilihat. Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022) telah menunjukkan hal tersebut dengan membuat alur cerita yang tidak hanya semata-mata menghadirkan tentang bagaimana tokoh utama Pinokio menjadi anak laki-laki sungguhan. Meskipun Pinokio yang banyak dikenal sebagai tokoh terkenal dalam sastra anak, tulisan ini bertujuan untuk melihat penggambaran dari fasisme dan bagaimana hal tersebut dikritik lewat cerita Pinokio. Dengan demikian, penulisan ini membahas fasisme dalam sebuah film Hollywood dan bagaimana film tersebut menggambarkan paham tersebut.

Pinocchio is a well-known character who is majorly recognized by how the wooden puppet learns to be a real boy. The story is also widely famous for the uniqueness of the main character when his nose grows longer as he lies. This same formula has been continuously used and can be easily found in every adaptation of Pinocchio. However, does it mean that the story of Pinocchio is only about depicting Pinocchio’s nose? Motion pictures certainly offer many aspects to be seen. Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (2022) has stepped this notion up by creating storylines that do not simply present how the main character is portrayed to be a real boy. Even though Pinocchio is mostly known as a famous character in children's literature, this paper aims to see the portrayal of fascism and how it is criticized through the story of Pinocchio. Therefore, this paper deals with fascism in a Hollywood film and how it captures elements of fascism."

"Heimat merupakan konstruksi sosial yang esensial bagi diaspora. Konstruksi tersebut mengikat diaspora dengan lingkungan yang dapat memberikan pengaruh besar terhadap proses identifikasi diri. Konstruksi Heimat terhadap diaspora dapat kita lihat melalui film dokumenter Yes, I Am, yang mengangkat kisah tentang konflik budaya yang dialami tiga pemusik Afro Jerman selama tinggal di Jerman serta bagaimana Reunifikasi Jerman mempertemukan mereka untuk bersatu melawan diskriminasi warna kulit dan ras yang masih terjadi di Jerman. Film ini sangat menarik karena terdapat lagu karya ketiga pemusik tersebut yang memvisualisasikan kisah hidup mereka. Konstruksi makna Heimat dalam film akan dianalisis berdasarkan beberapa adegan dan satu lagu dalam film dengan menggunakan teori circuit of culture Stuart Hall mengenai representasi dan identitas.

Heimat is an essential social construction for the diaspora. This construction binds the diaspora to the environment which can have a major influence on the process of self-identification. We can see the Heimat construction on the diaspora through the documentary Yes, I Am, which raises the story of the cultural conflicts experienced by three German Afro musicians while living in Germany and how German Reunification brought them together to unite against the discrimination of skin color and race that still occurs in Germany. This film is very interesting because there are songs by the three musicians who visualize their life stories. The construction of Heimat's meaning in the film will be analyzed based on several scenes and one song in the film using Stuart Hall's circuit of culture theory of representation and identity.

"ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini menjelaskan tentang representasi perpustakaan dan pustakawan dalam
film The Librarian: Quest for the Spear. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode
semiotik dengan menggunakan analisis yang dikemukakan oleh Roland Barthes
yaitu analisis hubungan sintagmatik dan paradigmatik yang bertujuan untuk
mendeskripsikan representasi perpustakaan dan pustakawan dengan memahami
gambaran perpustakaan dan pustakawan yang ditampilkan dalam film. Hasil
penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa dalam analisis sintagmatik menunjukkan
representasi perpustakaan tercermin dari perpustakaan Metropolitan Public
Library dengan representasi pustakawan tercermin dari tokoh Flynn. Analisis
paradigmatik menunjukkan representasi perpustakaan dan pustakawan dilihat dari
deskripsi para tokoh dan juga latar tempat. Sebagai kesimpulan, film ini
merepresentasikan perpustakaan sebagai tempat yang menyimpan koleksi buku
dan benda berharga serta pustakawan memiliki wawasan luas serta memiliki
kemampuan meneliti yang baik.

ABSTRACT
This thesis describes the representation of libraries and librarians in The movie
The Librarian: Quest for the Spear. This research using the method of analysis
semiotic expressed by Roland Barthes namely analysis the relationship
syntagmatic and paradygmatic which aims to describe the representation of the
library and librarian by understanding picture libraries and librarians is featured in
the film. The result of this research stated that in the analysis syntagmatic show
representation library reflected from the library metropolitan public library with
representations librarian reflected from figure flynn. Analysis of paradygmatic
shows a representation of the library and the librarian as seen from the description
of the character and background of the place. In conclusion, this film represent
library as a place that stores a collection of books and precious objects and
librarian have insight and have broad ability examines good."

"The life-long inventor, Lee de Forest invented the three-element vacuum tube used between 1906 and 1916 as a detector, amplifier, and oscillator of radio waves. Beginning in 1918 he began to develop a light valve, a device for writing and reading sound using light patterns. While he received many patents for his process, he was initially ignored by the film industry. In order to promote and demonstrate his process he made several hundred sound short films, he rented space for their showing; he sold the tickets and did the publicity to gain audiences for his invention. Lee de Forest officially brought sound to film in 1919. Lee De Forest: King of Radio, Television, and Film is about both invention and early film making; de Forest as the scientist and producer, director, and writer of the content. This book tells the story of de Forest’s contribution in changing the history of film through the incorporation of sound. The text includes primary source historical material, U.S. patents and richly-illustrated photos of Lee de Forest’s experiments. Readers will greatly benefit from an understanding of the transition from silent to audio motion pictures, the impact this had on the scientific community and the popular culture, as well as the economics of the entertainment industry."
