"This book will introduce new techniques for detecting and diagnosing small-delay defects in integrated circuits. Although this sort of timing defect is commonly found in integrated circuits manufactured with nanometer technology, this will be the first book to introduce effective and scalable methodologies for screening and diagnosing small-delay defects, including important parameters such as process variations, crosstalk, and power supply noise."

"This book describes several techniques to address variation-related design challenges for analog blocks in mixed-signal systems-on-chip. The methods presented are results from recent research works involving receiver front-end circuits, baseband filter linearization, and data conversion. These circuit-level techniques are described, with their relationships to emerging system-level calibration approaches, to tune the performances of analog circuits with digital assistance or control. Coverage also includes a strategy to utilize on-chip temperature sensors to measure the signal power and linearity characteristics of analog/RF circuits, as demonstrated by test chip measurements.
Describes a variety of variation-tolerant analog circuit design examples, including from RF front-ends, high-performance ADCs and baseband filters. Includes built-in testing techniques, linked to current industrial trends. Balances digitally-assisted performance tuning with analog performance tuning and mismatch reduction approaches. Describes theoretical concepts as well as experimental results for test chips designed with variation-aware techniques."

"This book provides an insightful guide to the design, testing and optimization of micro-electrode-dot-array (MEDA) digital microfluidic biochips. The authors focus on the characteristics specific for MEDA biochips, e.g., real-time sensing and advanced microfluidic operations like lamination mixing and droplet shape morphing. Readers will be enabled to enhance the automated design and use of MEDA and to develop a set of solutions to facilitate the full exploitation of design complexities that are possible with standard CMOS fabrication techniques. The book provides the first set of design automation and test techniques for MEDA biochips. The methods described in this book have been validated using fabricated MEDA biochips in the laboratory. Readers will benefit from an in-depth look at the MEDA platform and how to combine microfluidics with software, e.g., applying biomolecular protocols to software-controlled and cyberphysical microfluidic biochips.

Microstrip antenna is one of developing topic in the antenna field in the last years, because it have low profile, light in weight and well suited to integration with Microwave Integrated Circuits (MICs) although it have some limitation especially in bandwidth frequency and gain antenna. One of technique for increase its performance is implementation of active devices on the same substrate with microstrip antenna are treated as a single entity, its call Active Integrated Antennas (A1A). The implementation of active devices Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) on receiver microwave antenna showed several advantages, e.g., increasing bandwidth frequency, increasing gain antenna and improving the noise factor.
This paper presents the design, building up and measurement of active microstrip antenna receiver LNA, which is the integration microstrip antenna with microwave active device LNA AT-41435 an placed RO3003 substrate (sr = 3,00; h = 0,75 mm) same as with Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) substrate and will be electromagnetic coupled to the antenna. After several optimization active microstrip antenna receivers LNA was building at frequency 4 GHz. The measurement results of an active microstrip antenna show VSWR 1,31 with return loss -17,10 dB, bandwidth frequency 388,92 MHz or increase 90,36%, and gain 16,48 dB or increase 135,09% of the passive microstrip and noise figure 3,94 dB or difference 0,15 dB or 3,66% of the calculation result.
