"Friction-vibration interactions are common but important phenomena in science and engineering. Handbook of friction-vibration Interactions introduces the principles and provides the resources to understand and work with them. A unified theoretical framework includes some of the most important engineering applications. The first three chapters in the book introduce basic concepts and analytical methods of friction and vibration. The fourth chapter presents the general principles on friction-vibration interactions, and also touches on various engineering applications. In the fifth chapter the concepts and methods are extended to some of the most critical engineering applications in high-tech industry, presenting the friction-vibration interaction principle and applications in data storage systems.

"ABSTRAK
Paparan getaran pada tubuh manusia memiliki dampak pada kesehatan dalam jangka waktu panjang yang salah satunya adalah getaran ketika berkendara. Penelitian ini adalah perancangan sistem pemandu kecepatan untuk kenyamanan berkendara dengan mengukur paparan getaran berdasarkan besar kecepatan dan bentuk permukaan jalan berdasarkan metode whole-body vibration getaran seluruh tubuh . Ruang lingkup perancangan sistem akuisisi data meliputi penyimpanan data sensor accelerometer ,vibration dan kecepatan. Dengan demikian bisa didapatkan besar nilai paparan getaran seluruh tubuh Whole-Body Vibration Exposure yang akan menjadi rekomendasi untuk mengkondisikan kecepatan kendaraan yang sesuai dengan bentuk permukaan jalan.

ABSTRACT
Vibration exposure on the human body has an impact on health in the long term, one of which is a vibration when driving. This study is the system design of vehicle guidance system for driving comfort by measuring the vibration exposure based on great speed and shape of the road surface based on the method of whole body vibration whole body vibration . The scope of the data acquisition system design includes accelerometer sensor data storage, vibration and speed. Thus can be obtained great whole body vibration exposure value Whole Body Vibration Exposure which will be on conditioning the vehicle speed corresponding to the shape of the road surface."

"ABSTRACT
Construction technology has led to flexible structures such as tall buildings and long-span bridges the design of these structures involves certain problem, e.g. : safety, human comfort, increased risk of damage.
A solution to these problems consist to certain extent of the application of structural control.
A structure can be controlled by using active control mechanisms, it is able to control displacement, velocity or acceleration of the structure, or all of these, as desired.
In order to control the structure s response, one has to apply some control forces that are able to change the parameter affecting the response (mass, stiffness, damping) properly. Such forces can easily be implemented by using auxiliary masses, springs (or tendons), dampers, or all of these.
Furthermore, in this paper, tendon control will be used to provide the control force for a simple span bridge and this evaluation ins limited to the controlled response of deflection at midspan and compare with uncontrolled response."

"Latar belakang: Hasil pemeriksaan kesehatan berkala tahun 2012 menunjukkan adanya 3.5% pekerja mengalami hematuria. Tujuan penelitian ini mengidentifikasi adanya hubungan pajanan getaran seluruh tubuh terhadap kejadian hematuria serta pengaruh faktor-faktor lain pada pekerja mekanik forklift perusahaan alat berat.
Metode penelitian: Disainyang digunakan adalah potong lintang. Data primer adalah hasil pengukuran pajanan getaran seluruh tubuh dan pemeriksaan urin lengkap sesudah bekerja. Data sekunder yang digunakan adalah hasil pemeriksaan berkala tahun 2012. Dari seluruh 136 mekanik forklift, hanya 106 sampel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan tidak memenuhi kriteria eksklusi.
Hasil penelitian: Prevalensi hematuria pada pekerja mekanik forklift adalah 25.5%, pajanan getaran seluruh tubuh antara 0.0003 sampai 1.350m/s2. Ditemukan hubungan bermakna antara lama pajanan getaran per hari dengan hematuria (OR:2.7, 95%CI: 1.03-6.84), dan semua hematuria terpajan getaran diatas 0.21 m/s2.
Kesimpulan: Adanya hubungan antara lama pajanan getaran per hari dengan risiko kejadian hematuria, pajanan selama >3jam/hari meningkatkan risiko terjadinya kejadian hematuria. Disarankan untuk menurunkan pajanan getaran dibawah 0.21 m/s2 selain membatasi waktu pajanan.Melakukan pemeriksaan berkala terutama urin lengkap untuk pekerja mekanik forklift.

Background: Results of Medical Check-Up 2012, showed that 3.5% employee have hematuria. The objective of this study is to identify if there is a relationship between whole body vibration and hematuria other factors amongforklift mechanics in heavy equipment industry.
Method: This study used cross sectional design, primary data was whole body vibration andafter work urine sample analysis, secondary data used were results from medical check up in 2012. A total sample of 132 forklift mechanics, were recruited, but only 106 samples meet the inclusion criteria and did not meet the exclusion criteria.
Results of this study: Prevalence of hematuria was 25.5%,whole body vibration exposure was between 0.0003 until 1.350m/s2. A significant relation between daily period of vibration exposure with hematuria was found(OR:2.7, CI: 1.03-6.84), subjects with hematuria were exposed to vibration above 0.21 m/s2(
Conclusions: Daily vibration exposure>3 hours showed a higher risk for hematuria. It is recommended that the vibration should be decreased to <0.21 m/s2, besides limiting the time of daily exposure. Periodic medical examination should include urine analysis."

sedemikian besarnya. Berdasarkan Laporan Tata Kelola Ekonomi Daerah (TKED) 2011 diketahui Tingkat pemakaian genset cukup tinggi di daerah pusat pusat pertumbuhan ekonomi yang sering terjadi pemadaman listrik. Atas dasar
kebutuhan Genset sebagai sumber listrik cadangan maka Genset harus selalu bisa digunakan setiap saat. Kerusakan yang perjadi pada genset bisa diawali dari kerusakan komponen-komponen mekaniknya. Tujuan pembuatan tulisan ini adalah untuk mengurangi tingkat kegagalan operasional Genset dengan cara mendeteksi kerusakan-kerusakan pada komponen mekanik Genset dengan cara menganalisa frekuensi sinyal Vibrasi yang dihasilkan pada bagian luar Genset. Sinyal Vibrasi ditransformasikan ke dalam Grafik PSD dengan menggunakan transformasi Fourier (FFT) . Hasil yang dicapai dalam tulisan ini adalah berupa peringatan mengenai komponen Genset yang mengalami kerusakan. Sehingga bisa dilakukan tindakan perbaikan sebelum Genset perlu digunakan

ABSTRACT
The dependence of electricity to support economic activity has been so
great. Based on Local Economic Governance Report (TKED) 2011 known genset usage levels high enough in the regional centers of economic growth which is often a power outage. On the basis of the needs of Genset as a backup power source, the generator should always be used at any time. Damage occurs in the generator can be started from the damage of its mechanical components. The purpose of making this paper is to reduce the level of operational failure Genset by detecting defects in mechanical components Genset by analyzing the frequency of vibration signals generated on the outside of the Genset. The vibration signal is transformed into the PSD graph by using Fourier transform (FFT). The results achieved in this paper is a form of warnings about Genset damaged components. So that corrective action can be done before the generator should be used"
