"Tesis ini membahas wewenang dan peranan Majelis Pengawas Notaris atas pelanggaran Jabatan Notaris Dan Kode Etik Notaris di Kota Batam, akibat hukum atas pelanggaran terhadap lembaga kenotariatan, dan fungsi Majelis Pengawas Notaris dan Majelis Kehormatan Notaris. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian yuridis normatif, tipe penelitian bersifat deskriptif analitis dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini, bahwa Majelis Pengawas Notaris untuk selanjutnya disebut MPN bertugas melakukan pengawasan terhadap Notaris yang bersifat preventif dan kuratif, dalam melakukan tugasnya masih ada rasa tidak enak untuk menegur dan rasa solidaritas sesama rekan yang tanpa disadari akan berakibat pada Notaris dan masyarakat sebagai pengguna jasa Notaris yang akan mengakibatkan berkurangnya tingkat kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap lembaga kenotariatan, MPN dan MKN memiliki fungsi yang sama yaitu melakukan pembinaan terhadap Notaris namun pada momentum yang berbeda.......The thesis itself discusses The Role and Authority of The Notary Supervisory Board for Violation of Notary and Notary Code of Conduct in Batam City and legal consequences for violation of the notarial institution also the function of The Notary Supervisory Council and Notary Public Honor Council. The method used in this research legal normative which is analytic descriptive, and data is analysed qualitatively. This research shows that the role of MPN is to preventively supervise Notaries. The implementation of supervision is done with solidarity in mind which impacts the public as clients of the notary, without knowing it will lower the public rsquo s trust towards the institution, Notary Supervisory Council and Notary Public Honor Council which have the same function that is to conduct guidance to Notary at a distinct moment."
