"Skripsi ini membahas mengenai sebuah alternatif terjadinya fenomena kodokushidi Jepang, terutama bagi para lansia. Fenomena ini diakibatkan oleh semakin merenggangnya hubungan masyarakat Jepang dengan lingkungan sosialnya, hingga menyebabkan perasaan teralienasi atau terisolir dari lingkungannya. Hubungan dan interaksi sosial amat dibutuhkan oleh setiap individu di dunia, terutama ketika sudah menjadi lansia. Tetangga merupakan orang terdekat selain keluarga yang dapat dimintai pertolongan dikala darurat. Oleh karena itu, jika tidak membangun hubungan dengan lingkungan sosial, seseorang akan mengalami kesulitan dimasa tuanya. Berangkat dari masalah itu, penulis akan membahas mengenai collective house sebagai salah satu alternatif yang dapat diterapkan oleh masyarakat Jepang untuk memperbaiki hubungan sosial dan interaksi dengan individu selain keluarga. Kegiatan-kegiatan yang dilakukan di dalam collective house juga dilakukan untuk menjaga daya ingat dan membuat mereka merasa masih berguna untuk orang lain dan tidak bergantung kepada perawatan dari keluarga. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa collective house masih belum dapat menanggulangi terjadinya kodokushi pada lansia Jepang secarqa efektif. ......This thesis is about one of an alternative to prevent kodokushi phenomenon in Japan. The phenomenon was affected by loosing enchantment between Japanese and their society, finally made an alienation or isolation between the Japanese individual from the society. Social interaction and relationship was the most important thing for everyone in the world, especially for elderly. Neighbor is the nearest person in our live after family, they are the person who we could ask for help in emergency. Thus, if there is a person who did not build a relationship with them, he or she will be in trouble in their old time. For this reason, the writer wrote about collective house as an alternative prevention for kodokushi by open an opportunity for people to connected with the others. This communication build by social activity in the collective house, the tenant should have to work with the others tenant in the housing complex. Not only for open an opportunity to make friends, those activity also made for protecting elderly's memories and make them become more independence. This thesis is used cualitative data and explain the solution in description way. The result of this thesis is collective house still cannot be an effective solution to prevent kodokushi for Japan's elderly."
