"Transformasi cerita rakyat melalui permainan digital 2D pixel art menjadi cara inovatif untuk melestarikan budaya lokal di era modern. Penelitian ini mengembangkan Lodaya Conquest, gim edukasi yang mengadaptasi cerita Reog Ponorogo dengan visual sederhana dan narasi kuat. Pengembangan menggunakan metode Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) dan teori Mediamorfosis. Uji coba pada siswa SMK Wikrama Bogor menggunakan Game Experience Questionnaire (GEQ) dan wawancara. Hasilnya, 87% responden memahami narasi budaya lebih baik, 81% merasa terlibat emosional, dan 85% menikmati pembelajaran melalui gim. Visual pixel art, musik tradisional, dan cerita interaktif menarik minat tanpa mengurangi nilai budaya. Lodaya Conquest mendukung literasi budaya dan membuka peluang budaya lokal dikenal global melalui media digital. Permainan berbasis budaya dapat membantu mengenalkan, mengapresiasi, dan menjaga warisan budaya Indonesia agar tetap relevan di tengah arus globalisasi.
Transforming folklore through a 2D pixel art digital game is an innovative way to preserve local culture today. This study developed Lodaya Conquest, an educational game adapting the Reog Ponorogo story with simple visuals and strong narrative. The game was created using the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) method and Mediamorphosis theory. Testing with SMK Wikrama Bogor students used the Game Experience Questionnaire (GEQ) and interviews. Results showed 87% of respondents better understood cultural narratives, 81% felt emotionally engaged, and 85% enjoyed learning through the game. Pixel art visuals, traditional music, and interactive stories attracted interest without losing cultural value. Lodaya Conquest supports cultural literacy and shows the potential to bring local culture to global platforms through digital media. Culture-based games can help introduce, appreciate, and sustain Indonesia’s cultural heritage, ensuring its relevance amid globalization."
