"Kemangi (Ocimum americanum L.) merupakan tanaman yang mengandung minyak atsiri dengan sitral sebagai komponen utamanya. Efektivitas sitral dalam penghambatan terhadap motilitas usus telah dibuktikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian minyak atsiri daun kemangi (Ocimum americanum L.) terhadap motilitas usus mencit putih jantan. Sejumlah 30 ekor mencit putih jantan dibagi menjadi enam kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif yang diberi 0,2 ml CMC 0,5%, kelompok kontrol positif diberi atropin sulfat 0,08 ml/20 g BB, kelompok kontrol pembanding diberi emulsi sitral 0,1 mg/20 g BB, dan tiga kelompok bahan uji yang diberi emulsi minyak atsiri daun kemangi dengan dosis I, II, dan III berturut-turut, yaitu 0,5 mg/20 g BB; 1 mg/20 g BB; dan 2 mg/20 g BB. Kemudian diberikan suspensi charcoal meal sebanyak 0,2 ml secara oral, lalu mencit dikorbankan. Setelah itu dilakukan pengukuran sehingga diperoleh data persentase ratio dan hambatan motilitas usus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minyak atsiri daun kemangi dosis 2 mg/20 g BB memberikan efek penghambatan sebesar 59,79% yang tidak berbeda secara signifikan (p>0,05) dengan sitral dan atropin sulfat. Dengan demikian, minyak atsiri daun kemangi berpotensi sebagai karminatif, antidiare, dan antispasmodik.

Kemangi (Ocimum americanum L.) is a plant that contains essential oils with citral as a main component. Effectivity of citral as intestinal motility inhibition was evaluated. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of essential oil of kemangi leaves (Ocimum americanum L.) on white male mices intestinal motility. Thirty white male mices were divided into six groups, which the negative control group was given 0,2 ml of 0,5% CMC, the positive control group was given atropine sulfate 0,08 ml/20 g BW, the comparison control group was given emulsion citral 0,1 mg/20 g BW, and three of test materials groups were given volatile oil emulsion kemangi leaves (Ocimum americanum L.) doses 0,5 mg/20 g BW; 1 mg/20 g BW, and 2 mg/20 g BW. Then mices was given charcoal meal suspension 0,2 ml orally, and the animals were sacrificed. This measured was expressed as ratio and inhibition percentage. The results showed that the inhibition of essential oil of kemangi leaves (Ocimum americanum L.) dose 2 mg/20 g BW was 59,79%, it did not show significant different (p> 0.05) effect with citral and atropine sulfate. Altogether, essential oil of kemangi leaves (Ocimum americanum L.) has potential as a carminative, antidiarrheal, and antispasmodic agent."

"ABSTRAKPenelitian mengenai keragaman ikan gabus Sentani Oxyeleotris heterodon, Weber 1907 telah dilakukan dari bulan Agustus 2016 -- April 2017. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis keragaman morfologi ikan gabus sentani Oxyeleotris heterodon dengan metode truss morfometrik dan keragaman genetik dengan DNA barcoding. Sampel ikan gabus Sentani Oxyeleotris heterodon sebanyak 56 individu ditangkap dengan menggunakan jaring insang dari tiga stasiun penelitian yaitu Kampung Ifar, Kampung Putali dan Kampung Sosiri. Metode truss morfometrik dilakukan dengan mengukur 26 karakter pada tubuh sampel yang diamati, sedangkan metode DNA Barcoding dilakukan dengan menggunakan Gen Cytochrome Oxidase Sub Unit 1. Hasil yang diperoleh memperlihatkan nilai korelasi tertinggi terdapat pada karakter B2 dan D5, dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,963, sedangkan nilai korelasi terendah terdapat pada karakter A1 dan A4 dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,278. Nilai koefisiensi keragaman setiap karakter morfometrik sebesar 31 . Semua variabel berbeda secara signifikan antar setiap lokasi semua variabel memiliki p-value < 0,05 . Terbentuk tiga kelompok/kluster dari analisis morfometrik. Gen Cytochrome C Oxidase Sub Unit 1 COX 1 digunakan sebagai penanda. Daerah penanda Cytochrome Oxidase Sub Unit 1 menghasilkan fragmen DNA berukuran 650 bp. Hasil rekonstruksi pohon filogeni menghasilkan membentuk dua kelompok/kluster. Truss morfometrik dan DNA Barcoding dapat digunakan dalam mengidentifikasi keragaman ikan gabus Sentani Oxyeleotris heterodon di Kampung Ifar, Kampung Putali dan Kampung Sosiri.

ABSTRACTResearch on the diversity of gabus Sentani fish Oxyeleotris heterodon, Weber 1907 was conducted from August 2016 to April 2017. The aims of this study to identify and analyze the morphological diversity of gabus Sentani fish Oxyeleotris heterodon by morphometric truss method and genetic diversity by DNA Barcoding. Gabus Sentani fish Oxyeleotris heterodon samples of 56 individuals were caught by gill net from three research stations that is Ifar Village, Putali Village and Sosiri Village. The morphometric truss method was performed by measuring 26 characters in the sample body observed, while the DNA Barcoding method was performed using Gen Cytochrome Oxidase Sub Unit 1. The results obtained showed the highest correlation values were in the characters B2 and D5, with a correlation value of 0.963. While the lowest correlation value is on the characters A1 and A4 with a correlation value of 0.278. The coefficient value of each morphometric characteristic is 31 .
