"Selain dipengaruhi oleh keunggulan maupun kekurangan dari pembiayaan syariah, penggunaan pembiayaan syariah juga mungkin berhubungan dengan nilai-nilai pribadi yang dimiliki oleh seorang presiden direktur dalam suatu perusahaan dan hal ini didukung oleh teori eselon atas. Nilai-nilai pribadi dapat berasal dari agama atau kepercayaan seseorang. Penelitian tentang preferensi muslim sebagai presiden direktur terhadap penggunaan pembiayaan syariah di Indonesia masih tergolong jarang dibahas sehingga belum banyak dipahami oleh penduduk Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh presiden direktur muslim terhadap kemungkinan perusahaan untuk menggunakan pembiayaan syariah di Indonesia berdasarkan data dari 460 perusahaan terbuka yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) pada tahun 2020. Hubungan antara presiden direktur muslim terhadap kemungkinan menggunakan pembiayaan syariah dianalisis menggunakan model probit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa presiden direktur muslim memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kemungkinan penggunaan pembiayaan syariah. Terdapat peluang yang lebih tinggi terhadap kehadiran pembiayaan syariah sebagai bagian dari struktur modal perusahaan saat perusahaan dipimpin oleh presiden direktur muslim, bahkan lebih tinggi untuk perusahaan terbuka dengan total aset yang lebih besar. Dengan demikian, hasil penelitian ini bersesuaian dengan teori eselon atas.......Aside from the advantages and disadvantages of Islamic financing, the usage of Islamic financing may be related to the personal values of the company’s president director and this is supported by upper echelons theory. Personal values may come from religions or beliefs. Study on the preferences of Muslim president directors towards Islamic financing in Indonesia is still relatively rare to be discussed so it is not widely understood by Indonesia’s population. Therefore, this study examines the influence of Muslim president director on the probability of Islamic financing’s presence in the capital structure based on data from 460 listed companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2020. The relationship between Muslim president director towards the probability of Islamic financing’s presence in the capital structure was analyzed through probit model. We find that Muslim president director has a positive and significant effect towards the probability of Islamic financing’s presence in the capital structure. Islamic financing has a higher probability to be a part of the company’s capital structure when the company is led by a Muslim president director, even higher for listed companies with bigger total assets. This implies that our findings support the upper echelons theory"
