"Kusta merupakan penyakit Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) yang menjadi masalah global yang menyebabkan perceived stigma pada orang yang mengalaminya. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan perceived stigma dan faktor yang paling dominan mempengaruhinya pada orang yang pernah mengalami kusta di perkampungan kusta Sitanala, Tangerang tahun 2013. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan kualitatif.
Desain yang digunakan adalah cross-sectional. Sampel dipilih secara purposive sampling. Hasil peneltian menunjukkan faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan perceived stigma adalah tingkat pendidikan (OR1=3,45 95% CI 1,08-11,06 dan OR2=2,47, 95% CI 0,9-6,82), persepsi pengetahuan, tingkat cacat, dan nilai budaya (OR=3,36, 95% CI 2,02-5,61).
Terdapat efek modifikasi antara tingkat cacat dengan persepsi pengetahuan, OR1=4,82(95% CI 1,26-18,34) dan OR2=1,18(95% CI 0,2-6,98). Faktor dominan adalah tingkat pendidikan dengan PAR%=38,8%. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan intervensi, penyuluhan, dan konseling mengenai faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan perceived stigma tentang penyakit kusta sehingga dapat menurunkan perceived stigma.

The results of the study showed that factors related to perceived stigma were level of education, perception of knowledge about leprosy, level of disability, and cultural values. There was modification effect between the level of disability and perception of knowledge about leprosy, OR1=4.82 (95% CI 1.26-18,34) and OR2=1.18 (95% CI 0.2-6.98). The dominant factor is level of education with PAR% = 38.8%."
