Tesis ini bertujuan mengetahui korelasi karakteristik pesan dan respon publik pada Halaman Facebook Kementerian Negara dengan memberikan fokus pada analisis level pesan agar dapat memahami bagaimana pemerintah sehari-hari berkomunikasi dengan publik di media sosial dalam usahanya membangun dan mengelola hubungan dengan publik sebagai salah satu pemangku kepentingannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode analisis isi serta konsep komunikasi pemerintah, media sosial, dan komunikasi dialogis. Dalam penelitian ini, pesan yang berupa post Facebook dianalisis melalui karakteristik pesan, yang meliputi tipe post, tipe media, waktu post, dan panjang post. Sementara itu, respon publik merujuk pada online engagement yang dianalisis melalui jumlah like reaction, jumlah share, dan jumlah comment. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa mayoritas pesan yang disampaikan pada Halaman Facebook Kementerian Negara adalah pesan ldquo;informational rdquo; yang berisi tentang informasi satu arah dan menggunakan foto/gambar, pada hari kerja, serta di luar jam sibuk 09.01-12.00 dan 15.01-18.00 . Sehubungan dengan respon publik terhadap pesan yang disampaikan, mayoritas respon publik adalah dalam bentuk memberikan like reaction. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa publik tidak begitu merespon dengan baik pesan yang bersifat informational, namun merespon tipe post ldquo;promotional rdquo;, yang mengandung ajakan untuk ldquo;melakukan sesuatu rdquo;, lebih baik dibandingkan tipe post lain. Lebih lanjut, uji koefisien kontingensi untuk melihat hubungan karakteristik pesan dan respon publik menunjukkan bahwa hanya vividness media yang mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan jumlah like reaction dan jumlah share.

ABSTRACT
This thesis aims to analyse the correlation of post characteristics and public response on the Ministries of Indonesia rsquo s Facebook Pages by focusing on the message level analysis to understand how the government communicates with public on a daily basis on social media in their efforts to build and maintain relationships with public as one of their stakeholders. This research uses quantitative content analysis as its method as well as concepts of government communications, social media, and dialogic communications. In this study, posts are referred to Facebook posts that are analysed based on their characteristics that include post type, media type, posting time, and posting length. Meanwhile, public response is referred to online engagement that are analysed based on number of likes reactions, number of shares, and number of comments. Findings show that majority of posts on Ministries of Indonesia rsquo s Facebook Pages is informational which contains one way information and are published using photos pictures, on weekdays, and outside of peak hours 09.01 12.00 and 15.01 18.00 . Regarding public response towards the posts published, majority of public response is in giving likes reactions. Results also show that public does not respond well to informational type of post, but responds on promotional type of post whose purpose is to get followers to lsquo lsquo do something rsquo rsquo better than other types of posts. Furthermore, the contingency coefficient test to see the relationship of post characteristics and public response indicates that only vividness of media has significant relationship with number of likes reactions and number of shares.

Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi tokoh Latina dengan meneliti Season 1 drama komedi televisi AS, Devious Maids. Sejak kemunculannya, serial ini telah menjadi kontroversi, baik di dalam maupun di luar komunitas Latin karena menampilkan kehidupan lima tokoh Latinas yang bekerja sebagai pembantu rumah tangga di Beverly Hills. Penggambaran yang demikian dikhawatirkan akan memperkuat stereotip negatif Latina. Namun, close reading pada lima tokoh Latina menunjukkan bahwa serial TV ini menawarkan hal yang lebih. Serial ini membuat tokoh Latina "terlihat" melalui upaya "decentering white dan menempatkan tokoh Latina sebagai karakter utama serta pada saat yang sama mendekonstruksi beberapa stereotip Latina. Beberapa konsep, seperti kategorisasi stereotip Latina dan "decentering white" digunakan untuk menginterpretasi serial tersebut. Hasil dari analisis skripsi menunjukkan bahwa meskipun terdapat upaya untuk membuat Latina "terlihat", serial ini belum sepenuhnya membalikkan stereotip Latina. ...... This undergraduate thesis aims to analyze the representation of Latinas by examining the first season of US television drama comedy, Devious Maids. The show has been a controversy either within or outside Latin community since it represents the lives of five Latinas working as maids in Beverly Hills that appears to reinforce the negative stereotypes of Latinas. However, a close reading on all five Latina characters shows that the TV series offers more. The show gives visibility to the Latinas by decentering the white characters and putting the Latinas as main characters while at the same time deconstructing some Latina stereotypes. Some concepts, such as Latina stereotype categorizations and decentering white were used in interpreting the text. This thesis also discusses the representation of Latinas regarding sexuality issue and finds ambivalence in it. The result of the analysis shows that even though visibility is given to the Latina characters, the show has not fully deconstructed the stereotypes of Latina.
