Ketidakmampuan obat untuk dapat menyesuaikan pelepasan dosisnya di dalam tubuh dapat mengakibatkan efek samping yang signifikan terhadap penggunanya. Pelepasan terkendali dengan mikrosfer kitosan adalah metode yang digunakan untuk mengatasi pelepasan yang tiba-tiba oleh obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperlihatkan pengaruh pH saluran pencernaan terhadap profil pelepasan terkendali oleh mikrosfer kitosan. Analisis spektrofotometri digunakan untuk mengetahui penjerapan obat dan profil pelepasan oleh kitosan mikrosfer. Hasilnya, pelepasan pada pH 4,0 memiliki performa 10 kali lipat dibandingkan pelepasan pada pH 1,2 dan 7,4.

Abstract
Inability to adjust to the release of the drug dose in the body can result in significant adverse effects on users. Controlled release of the chitosan microspheres were the methods used to cope with the sudden release of the drug. This study aims to demonstrate the influence of pH on release profile of the digestive tract controlled by the chitosan microspheres. Spectrophotometric analysis is used to determine the drug adsorption and release profile of the chitosan microspheres. The result, release at pH 4.0 has 10 times the performance compared to release at pH 1.2 and 7.4. ;
