"ABSTRAKFilm merupakan media yang dapat merekam arsitektur secara menyeluruh. Secara visual film membentuk alur yang membuat penontonnya mengikuti dan dapat menangkap citra yang digambarkan. Apa yang ditampilkan dalam film tidak selalu sama dengan kenyataan, tetapi bisa saja berupa citra yang sengaja ditanamkan dalam bentuk utopia yang dianggap lebih ideal. Citra utopis sebuah latar tempat dalam film paling mudah ditangkap melalui kondisi fisiknya. Maka, skripsi ini akan membandingkan elemen fisik dari sebuah latar pada film dengan kondisi tempat yang nyata menggunakan teori citra kota oleh Kevin Lynch. Kemudian, elemen fisik tersebut dikaitkan dengan teori utopia oleh Thomas More serta aplikasinya dalam suburbia Amerika oleh Nezar AlSayyad, ditambah beberapa penyesuaian dengan konteks kampung di Indonesia. Citra ideal kampung ini akan memperlihatkan utopia yang dibuat senyata mungkin agar lebih menarik dan membuat masyarakatnya seolah berada di film tersebut.

ABSTRAKFilm is a medium that could record architecture in a comprehensive way. Film creates a story that will guide the spectators to see the images of the space given. What is shown in a film is not always a reality. It could consist of unreal images which seem to be the idealized version of a place, hence, a utopia. The utopian images of a place can be seen easily in the physical elements. This paper will compare the physical elements of a place in the film and in real life using the theory of images of the city by Lynch. Then, these elements will be linked to the theory of utopia by Thomas More and its application in American suburban by Nezar AlSayyad, with some adjustments with the kampung context in Indonesia. The ideal images of the kampung will show the utopia which is made as real as possible to be more enjoyable while attracting people as if they were in the"
