"Skripsi ini mengkaji tentang kepercayaan diri sebagai konsekuensi tidak sengaja dari pemelajaran dan implikasinya terhadap identitas petani di masyarakat. Kepercayaan diri dalam skripsi ini berkembang di dalam diri petani melalui nilai-nilai yang diinterpretasikan petani dan praktik-praktik di lahan yang berimplikasi pada kompetensi “baru” petani selama mengikuti kegiatan pemelajaran agrometeorologi. Kepercayaan diri yang secara tidak sengaja dipelajari oleh petani ternyata mengubah cara petani dalam mengonsepkan gambaran idealnya dan mengekspresikan identitasnya dalam konteks-konteks tertentu secara beragam. Skripsi ini menggunakan pendekatan situated learning dan identity performance untuk menjelaskan cara kepercayaan diri diinterpretasikan dan bekerja dalam situasi-situasi sosial tertentu.

This thesis examines self-esteem as an unintended consequence of learning and its implications for the identity of farmers in the community. The self-esteem in this thesis develops within the farmers through the values interpreted by the farmers and the practices in their field which have implications for the “new” competence of the farmers during the agrometeorological learning activities. The self-esteem learned by the farmers has changed the way they conceptualize their ideal image and express their identity in various contexts. This thesis uses situated learning and identity performance approaches to explain how self-esteem is interpreted and worked in many social situations.
