"Penelitian ini menganalisis fenomena party switching di Indonesia. Dengan mengambil kasus party switching kader PSI pada pencalonan DPRD DKI Jakarta 2024-2029, penelitan ini ingin menjawab pertanyaan bagaimana bentuk party switching kader PSI pada pencalonan DPRD DKI Jakarta 2024-2029? dan mengapa kader PSI melakukan party switching pada pencalonan DPRD DKI Jakarta 2024-2029? Melalui kerangka konsep party switching oleh Heller dan Mershon (2009)dan teori sistem insentif partai politik oleh Ware (1996), penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pertama, terdapat beberapa bentuk party switching kader PSI pada pencalonan DPRD DKI Jakarta 2024-2029, yaitu: (1) berdasarkan arah, berbentuk inswitch dan outswitch; (2) berdasarkan dampaknya terhadap jumlah partai politik, berbentuk across existing parties; (3) berdasarkan seberapa dekat waktunya dengan kasus party switching lainnya, berbentuk near-simultaneous maupun simultaneous; dan (4) berdasarkan sejauh mana aktor yang terlibat dapat melakukan pilihan bebas, berbentuk voluntary. Kedua, kader PSI melakukan party switching pada pencalonan DPRD DKI Jakarta 2024-2029 karena kader PSI mendapatkan disinsentif materiel, solidaritas, dan tujuan dari PSI sebagai partai politik asal dan di sisi lainnya mendapatkan insentif material incentives, solidary incentives, dan purposive incentives dari partai politik tujuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan data primer yang diperoleh dari wawancara mendalam dan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari kajian pustaka.

This study analyzes the phenomenon of party switching in Indonesia. By taking the case of party switching of PSI cadres in the candidacy of DKI Jakarta DPRD 2024-2029, this research wants to answer the questions of how the form of party switching of PSI cadres in the candidacy of DKI Jakarta DPRD 2024-2029? and why PSI cadres do party switching in the candidacy of DKI Jakarta DPRD 2024-2029? Using the party switching conceptual framework by Heller and Mershon (2009) and the political party incentive system theory by Ware (1996), this study shows that first, there are several forms of party switching by PSI cadres in the candidacy for the 2024-2029 Jakarta DPRD, namely: (1) based on direction, in the form of inswitch and outswitch; (2) based on its impact on the number of political parties, in the form of across existing parties; (3) based on how close in time with other party switching cases, in the form of near-simultaneous and simultaneous; and (4) based on the extent to which the actors involved can make free choices, in the form of voluntary. Second, PSI cadres do party switching in the candidacy for the 2024-2029 DKI Jakarta DPRD because PSI cadres get material, solidary, and purposive disincentives from PSI as the original political party and on the other hand get material incentives, solidary incentives, and purposive incentives from the destination political party. This research uses a qualitative method with primary data obtained from in-depth interviews and secondary data obtained from literature review."
