"Di Indonesia terdapat beberapa kasus hak cipta terkait pelanggaran skenario film yaitu adanya tayangan televisi di Indonesia seperti FTV, sinetron yang menjiplak skenario film asing, yang dapat dilihat dari adanya persamaan dalam cerita, adegan, atau dialog baik sebagian maupun seluruhnya, tanpa mencantumkan kredit untuk film asing yang bersangkutan. Salah satu kasus di Indonesia mengenai perebutan Hak Cipta adalah naskah/ skenario film antara Rachmawati Soekarnoputri melawan PT. Tripar Multivision Plus, Ram Jetmal Punjabi, Hanung Bramanto. Permasalahan yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah perlindungan hukum terhadap hak cipta atas skenario/naskah film soekarno dan hak cipta skenario/naskah film asing di Indonesia ditinjau dari Undang-Undang Nomor 19 Tahun 2002 Tentang Hak Cipta ('Undang-Undang Hak Cipta'); Bagaimana peran dan sikap hakim dalam memutus perkara terkait karya cipta skenario/naskah film soekarno. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perlindungan hukum terhadap pencipta skenario film di Indonesia dan perlindungan skenario/naskah film asing di Indonesia berdasarkan undang-undang hak cipta di Indonesia. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pengaturan mengenai hak cipta atas skenario/naskah film telah diatur dalam Pasal 12 ayat (1) huruf k Undang-Undang Hak Cipta dan perlindungan hak cipta skenario/naskah film asing diatur di dalam Pasal 76 Undang-Undang Hak Cipta.

Research of this study note that the arrangements regarding copyright scenario / screenplay has been regulated under Copyrights Law in Article 12 paragraph (1) letter k and protection of screenplay / script copyright for foreign films regulated in Article 76 of Copyrights Law."
