"Intellectual capital mulai mendapatkan perhatian dari berbagai industri, khususnya yang padat ilmu seperti bank. Studi ini berupaya untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh intellectual capital terhadap profitabilitas dan stabilitas bank di Indonesia. Menggunakan sampel dari 75 bank komersial di Indonesia dengan periode 2015--2019, studi ini menggunakan proksi MVAIC untuk mengukur intellectual capital. Dengan menggunakan metode fixed-effect model, studi ini menemukan bahwa intellectual capital berpengaruh secara signifikan dan positif terhadap profitabilitas dan stabilitas bank di Indonesia. Satu-satunya subkomponen dari MVAIC yang berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan baik terhadap profitabilitas maupun stabilitas bank merupakan Human Capital Efficiency (HCE). Subkomponen CEE juga berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap profitabilitas, namun tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap stabilitas. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa kepemilikan swasta asing pada bank memiliki pengaruh yang positif terhadap stabilitas, namun negatif terhadap profitabilitas. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi supaya bank dapat memperhatikan komposisi intellectual capital-nya untuk mencapai keunggulan kompetitif.

Intellectual capital has gained attention in various industries, especially the knowledge-intensive ones such as banks. This study seeks to investigate the effect of intellectual capital on the profitability and stability of banks in Indonesia. Using a sample of 75 commercial banks in Indonesia for the period 2015-2019, this study uses the MVAIC proxy to measure intellectual capital. Using the fixed-effect model method, this study finds that intellectual capital has a significant and positive effect on the profitability and stability of banks in Indonesia. The only subcomponent of MVAIC that has a positive and significant effect on both bank profitability and stability is Human Capital Efficiency (HCE). Meanwhile, CEE also has a positive and significant effect on bank profitability, but it does not affect stability. In addition, the study found that foreign private ownership in banks has a positive effect on stability, but negative on profitability. This research has implications so that banks can pay attention to the composition of their intellectual capital in order to achieve a competitive advantage."
