"Pragelatinisasi pati singkong ftalat merupakan pati singkong termodifikasi secara fisika dan kimia yang berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai polimer penyalut mikrokapsul. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan sintesis dan karakterisasi pragelatinisasi pati singkong ftalat yang diaplikasikan sebagai polimer penyalut mikrokapsul. Pragelatinisasi pati singkong ftalat dihasilkan dari gelatinisasi pati singkong yang dilanjutkan esterifikasi dengan asam ftalat anhidrida pada medium berair. Pragelatinisasi pati singkong ftalat yang dihasilkan diformulasi menjadi mikrokapsul dengan metode mikroenkapsulasi tautan silang antarmuka menggunakan agen penaut silang tereftaloil klorida (formula 1) dan mikroenkapsulasi semprot kering (formula 3). Ketoprofen digunakan sebagai model obat untuk mengetahui efisiensi penjerapan dan pelepasan obat mikrokapsul.Hasil karakterisasi menunjukkan bahwa pragelatinisasi pati singkong ftalat memiliki derajat substitusi 0,054 dengan kelarutan lebih besar pada medium basa serta kekuatan gel 31,9 gf. Hasil evaluasi mikrokapsul formula 1 memiliki bentuk bulat berdiameter 35-40 μm dengan morfologi permukaan tak beraturan. Efisiensi penjerapan mikrokapsul formula 1 adalah 74,41% dengan indeks mengembang lebih kecil pada medium asam. Uji disolusi pada medium fosfat pH 7,4 menunjukkan bahwa selama 90 menit telah dilepaskan seluruh ketoprofen dari mikrokapsul formula 1 dan formula 3. Pada medium asam klorida pH 1,2 ketoprofen yang dilepaskan dari mikrokapsul formula 1 dan formula 3 berturut-turut adalah 48,11% dan 35,85% selama 120 menit. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pragelatinisasi pati singkong ftalat dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai polimer penyalut mikrokapsul.

Pregelatinized casava starch phthalate was a physically and chemically modified cassava starch, that could be used as a coating polymer of microcapsules. In this research, pregelatinized casava starch phthalate was synthesized, characterized and applied as coating polymer of microcapsules. Pregelatinized casava starch phthalate was produced from cassava starch gelatinization, followed by esterification with phthalic acid anhydride in an aqueous medium. Pregelatinized casava starch phthalate microcapsules were prepared using interfacial cross-linking with terephthaloyl chloride (formula 1) and using spray drying (formula 3). Ketoprofen was used as model for loading efficiency and release studies. The characterization results showed that the substitution degree of pregelatinized casava starch phthalate was 0.054. In addition to having high solubility in alkaline medium and the gel strength of pregelatinized casava starch phthalate was 31,9 gf.

The evaluation results showed that the formula 1 were an irregular spherical shape of microcapsules and 35-40 μm in diameter. The loading efficiency of formula 1 was 74.41% and it had low swelling index in acidic medium. The release studies in phosphate medium pH 7.4 showed that all of ketoprofen was released from microcapsules of formula 1 and formula 3 during 90 minutes. In addition, the release of ketoprofen in chloride medium pH 1.2 from microcapsules of formula 1 and formula 3 were 48.11% and 35,85%, respectively, during 120 minutes. The results revealed that pregelatinized casava starch pthalate could be used as a coating polymer of microcapsules."
