Abstrak :
Penelitian ini membahas tentang bagaimana siswa yang akan menyelesaikan studi di Sekolah Menengah Atas bersiap untuk menghadapi tantangan melanjutkan pendidikan ke PTN dengan melihat seberapa besar pengaruh dukungan sosial yang diberikan oleh keluarga maupun peer group; kemudian akan dilihat pula bagaimana pengaruhnya jika variabel kontrol yaitu jenis sekolah diikutsertakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data survei yang dilakukan di SMAN 3 Cibinong dan SMA Dwiwarna Boarding School. Total sampel dalam penelitian ini sebesar 130 dengan masing-masing jumlah sampel di SMAN 3 Cibinong berjumlah 100 sedangkan jumlah sampel di SMA Dwiwarna berjumlah 30. Teknik penarikan sampel menggunakan stratified random sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel dukungan sosial keluarga dan dukungan sosial peer group berpengaruh terhadap minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke PTN dengan kekuatan hubungan cukup kuat. Berdasarkan penghitungan analisa multivariat, menunjukkan bahwa variabel dukungan sosial keluarga dengan minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke PTN yang dikontrol dengan variabel jenis sekolah mengalami model elaborasi spesifikasi. Begitu pula dengan variabel dukungan sosial peer group dengan minat melanjutkan pendidikan ke PTN yang dikontrol dengan variabel jenis sekolah, juga mengalami model elaborasi spesifikasi. ......This study discusses how students who will completed their study on Senior High School were prepared to face the challenges of continuing education to Higher Institution and for seeing how the big influences of social support were given from their family and their peer group; and also for seeing how they affect if control variable such as type of school was involved. This study uses quantitative methods with survey techniques in grade XI classes at SMAN 3 Cibinong and SMA Dwiwarna Boarding School. The number of sample in this study is 130 which consists of number sample in SMAN 3 Cibinong is 100 and number of sample in SMA Dwiwarna is 30. Technique sampling using a stratified random sampling. The result of this study indicate that the variable social support family and social support peer group influence the interest of continuing education in public college with the strength of strong enough ties. In addition, based on the results of the multivariate analysis calculation, indicate that the variable of social support family with the interest of continuing education in public college which is controlled by origin school variable, experienced in elaboration models specifications. Likewise with variable of social support peer group with the interest of continuing education in public college which is controlled by orgin school variable, experienced also in elaboration models specifications.
