"Gempa bumi Sumatera Barat tahun 2009 menimbulkan kerusakan dan kerugian. Kerugian menyebabkan dampak langsung dan tidak langsung yang signifikan terhadap perekonomian. Informasi dampak bencana terhadap perekonomian dibutuhkan dalam proses rekonstruksi dan rehabilitasi agar berjalan efektif dan tepat sasaran. Untuk itu penelitian ini bertujuan mengestimasi dampak gempa terhadap perekonomian Sumatera Barat. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis Sistem Neraca Sosial Ekonomi, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan gempa memberikan dampak paling besar terhadap: (i) penurunan pendapatan output sektor hotel dan restoran; (ii) penurunan pendapatan tenaga kerja pertanian perkotaan; (iii) penurunan pendapatan rumah tangga pertanian perkotaan; dan (iv) penurunan penyerapan tenaga kerja sektor hotel dan restoran.

The Earthquake in West Sumatra in 2009 caused damage and losses. The losses caused both direct and indirect significant impacts on the economy. Information of the disaster impacts on the economy is needed to the effective reconstruction and rehabilitation. This study aims to estimate the impacts of the earthquake towards the economy in West Sumatra. Applying the Social Accounting Matrix analysis, this study shows that the earthquake caused the greatest impacts on: (i) the income decline in hotel and restaurant sectors; (ii) the income decline in urban-farm labors; (iii) the income decline in urban-farm households; and (iv) the labor decline in hotel and restaurant sectors."
