"Pada kenyataannya, keputusan konsumen memilih produk layanan akses internet tidak hanya berdasarkan pada satu atribut, seperti harga atau merek. Mereka melihat suatu produk secara keseluruhan, yaitu dengan melihat kombinasi fitur dan atribut yang ada. Setelah melihat kombinasi fitur dan atribut produk tersebut, pembeli dihadapkan pada situasi trade-off sebelum mengambil suatu keputusan. Sebaliknya, suatu perusahaan penyedia jasa layanan akses internet harus memahami keinginan konsumen terhadap produk yang akan mereka jual. Permasalahan di atas dapat diatasi dengan menggunakan metode Conjoint analysis-QFD. Metode ini dapat digunakan untuk memahami preferensi konsumen. Hasil yang diperoleh dari metode ini adalah tingkat kepentingan relative atribut dan level produk layanan akses internet yang dipilih oleh konsumen, segmentasi pemasaran, dan tingkat kepentingan relatif respon teknis perusahaan penyedia jasa layanan akses internet. Dengan metode tersebut, maka pihak perusahaan dapat mendesain produk layanan akses internet sesuai dengan atribut dan level pilihan konsumen yang disesuaikan dengan kemampuan teknis perusahaan.

The consumers' decision to choose internet access service product, in fact, is not only based on one attribute, such as price or brand. They also have to observe the products as a whole, by observing the combination of features and attributes. Having observed the combination, the consumers are encountered with the situation of trade-off before taking a decision. Conversely, a company internet access service provider should understand what the consumers need on the products. The problems can be overcome by applying conjoint analysis-QFD methods. It can be used to understand the consumer preferences.

The results of this method are the relative importance of attributes and its level chosen by consumers, market segmentation, and the relative importance of technical response of the company. By applying these methods, the company is able to design products internet access service product in accordance with the company's technical capabilities."

"Penelitian tesis ini mengusulkan metode data mining untuk peramalan beban listrik jangka pendek dengan menggunakan kombinasi wavelet transform dan algoritma group method of data handling (WGMDH). Wavelet transform digunakan untuk mendekomposisi dan menganalisis sinyal beban listrik yang memiliki tren dan berfungsi sebagai proses penyaringan untuk meningkatkan kualitas data sebelum dilakukan peramalan menggunakan GMDH. Metode diuji pada data beban listrik yang terdapat pada sistem ketenagalistrikan Sumatera. Kinerja metode yang diusulkan dibandingkan dengan metode GMDH tanpa kombinasi wavelet dan metode koefisien. Metode yang diusulkan dapat memperbaiki akurasi peramalan beban listrik jangka pendek dibandingkan dengan model GMDH tanpa wavelet dan metode koefisien, yaitu menghasilkan MAPE lebih kecil dari 2%.

This thesis proposes a method of data mining for short-term load forecasting using a combination of wavelet transform and group methods of data handling (WGMDH). The wavelet transform is used to decompose, analyze and filter the signals trend of the electrical load to generate electricity load data into a higher quality before forecasting using GMDH. The proposed method is tested on the datasets of the power system of Sumatera. The performance of the proposed method compared with the GMDH method without the combination of wavelet transform and coefficient method. The proposed method can improve the accuracy in short-term load forecasting rather than GMDH without wavelet and coefficient method, the MAPE result is less than 2%."
