"Penelitian dalam makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh kenaikan harga BBM terhadap inflasi di Indonesia dengan menggunakan teori-teori ekonomi serta data-data realisasi harga BBM dan inflasi pada tahun 2006 sampai dengan tahun 2013. Dengan melalui data realisasi terlihat bahwa kenaikan harga BBM tahun 2005 dan 2008 berpengaruh terhadap tingginya inflasi pada periode tersebut. Dilihat dari teori demand pull inflation, inflasi yang timbul karena permintaan masyarakat akan BBM terlalu kuat mengingat BBM sebagai kebutuhan masyarakat yang amat strategis. Sedangkan dilihat dari teori cost push inflation, biaya perolehan barang yang besar akibat kenaikan BBM maka harga-harga barang mengalami kenaikan, sehingga timbulah inflasi.

The research in this paper aims to examine the influence of rising fuel price to the inflation in Indonesia using economic theories and data realization fuel prices and inflation in 2006 until 2013. Through the realization of the data shows that the increase in fuel prices in 2005 and 2008 effect on inflation in the period. Looking from the theory of demand pull inflation, inflation arising from the public demand for fuel is too strong considering the fuel as a very strategic needs of the society. While the views of the theory of cost push inflation, the cost of goods due to the huge increase in fuel, the prices of goods have increased, so result inflation."
