"The purpose of this thesis is to explain how power relations are described in Kuroshima Denji's short story “Uzumakeru Karasu no Mure” and "Sori". Using descriptive analysis method, this research attempt to reveal the pattern of power relation as represented in both short stories. This research finds that there are three types of power relation that showed in corpus: power relation between Japanese soldier and Siberian local people; power relation between Japanese soldier and partisan; and also power relation within Japanese army."
