The book is divided into three parts: 1. Anatomy, which covers relevant sonographic anatomy in the head and neck (with complementary images from CT, MRI); 2. Diagnoses, the core content of the book with detailed sonographic description of common Head & Neck lesions, key clinical information and practical scanning tips towards identifying the wide spectrum of diseases in this region; 3. Differential Diagnoses, which provides differential diagnoses for common sonographic signs/appearances. Although the book is on ultrasound, readers will find images from other imaging modalities so as to highlight the importance of multimodality imaging in modern clinical practice. This book is a compilation of Head and Neck sections of three previous books published by AMIRSYS, namely Diagnostic Imaging: Ultrasound; Diagnostic and Surgical Imaging Anatomy: Ultrasound and Expertddx: Ultrasound. The text & images (over 400) in the Anatomy section of the book remain relatively unchanged from the earlier book. In addition to the twenty diagnoses in the Diagnostic section of the earlier book, twenty one new diagnoses/chapters have been added. This entire section of the book now contains over a thousand images (almost all of these are new images with comprehensive annotation), in particular, illustrative images of shear wave elastography & strain imaging have been included. The key facts box feature of the book remains in this section & is ideal for a quick review for readers with short attention spans. The Expertddx section of this book has over two hundred & fifty images (half of which are new) & includes key references

Consists of diagnoses of all common disorders of the pediatric nervous system and many that are not common. For each diagnosis, information is included concerning the clinical presentation(s) of affected patients, the best sequences to perform for imaging analysis, what each imaging sequence is expected to show (in both common and uncommon presentations), and examples of images showing the key features. In addition, information is included concerning the pathophysiology and pathology of the disorders being discussed, and some basic information concerning the causative genes (when appropriate). In addition to the diagnoses, the book contains introductory chapters in multiple sections that give background on basic embryology, anatomy, and physiology as well as typical imaging features of normal structures in areas being imaged. Put together, the contents of the book make it useful for readers of many different backgrounds and at nearly all stages of training as well as practicing health professionals

Written by leading experts in the field, Dr. Griffith et al. have produced, Diagnostic Ultrasound: Musculoskeletal, the most comprehensive and up-to-date reference on musculoskeletal ultrasound. One of the keys to understanding any imaging modality is anatomy and this aspect has been well covered in the opening section. This beautifully illustrated section covers all relevant ultrasound anatomy in detail. The next diagnostic imaging section deals with the full range of specific entities likely to be encountered when performing musculoskeletal ultrasound such as discrete soft tissues masses, tendon disorders, entrapment syndromes, vascular anomalies, subcutaneous, muscle, and joint disorders. The next differential diagnosis section is unique in looking at musculosketal ultrasound imaging from a completely different viewpoint. It addresses the differential diagnoses should you consider when faced with different clinical ultrasound scenarios such as, for example, a patient with a para-articular cystic mass or an echogenic subcutaneous mass. This section is particularly helpful to those less experienced with musculoskeletal ultrasound. Diagnostic Ultrasound: Musculoskeletal is ideally suited to guide intervention for either diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. With this in mind, the final section comprises an encompassing, up-to-date assessment of the indications, techniques and sequelae of all commonly employed ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal interventional procedures. This comprehensive book is written in an easy to access format, and is ideally suited to a busy musculoskeletal ultrasound practice. It is packed with useful information, supported by beautiful schematic diagrams, and carefully selected illustrative high quality ultrasound images
