Abstrak :
An unpolarized light beam will change to a linear polarized beam by using a polarizing filter. In turn the linear polarized beam can be rotated in an active medium such as glass if a magnetic field exists. This phenomenon, which is known as Faraday effect, is there for can used as a current sensor. In this experiment, the current to be measured was flowed in Helmohltz coils where a homogeneous magnetic field was generated. Bismuth and Flumbo alloys were used as glass medium. An analyzer detected the linear polarized beam came from the glass. The analyzer was adjustable and has a capability to detect a light signal up to 1 mill radian per degree. The values of the rotation of the polarized light beams in the active medium were determined by Verdet's constant. The characteristics of the glasses were represented by plotted curves of rotation angle versus the wavelengths of the light beam, which shows parabolic form. The sensing current by Faraday effect shows a linear feature of rotation angle with respects to the current value, as predicted by the theory. The result also shows that the glass of Bismuth alloy is more sensitive than the Plumbo alloy.

Situasi pandemi COVID-19 yang semakin buruk menyebabkan Indonesia mengalami tekanan yang signifikan terhadap pelayanan kesehatan. Indonesia menghadapi tantangan salah satunya dengan menyediakan pasokan oksigen bagi pasien yang menderita COVID-19. Konsentrator oksigen adalah salah satu alat yang dapat digunakan dalam perawatan pasien penderita COVID-19. Konsentrator oksigen menyediakan oksigen dengan mengambil udara sekitar yang di dalamnya terdapat berbagai kandungan zat. Berbagai kandungan zat ini akan dipisahkan sehingga menghasilkan tingkat kemurnian oksigen lebih dari 95 persen. Proses pemisahan kandungan zat ini disebut Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA). Pada penelitian ini, pemisahan oksigen dengan proses PSA menggunakan zeolit Li-LSX sebagai adsorben. Simulasi numerik PSA dilakukan dengan metode Partial Differential Equation (PDE). Luaran yang diharapkan mampu menunjukkan pengaruh antara parameter pada feed, waste, dan produk, serta bed terhadap hasil komposisi produk. Hasilnya didapatkan kemurnian oksigen 93 persen untuk validasi dengan percobaan yang pernah ada sebelumnya. Percobaan yang dilakukan pada variasi tinggi bed dan waktu cycle organizer juga mempengaruhi kemurnian oksigen yang optimal pada tinggi bed 150 cm dan waktu cycle organizer 70 detik pada langkah pertama dan ketiga
......The worsening situation of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused Indonesia to experience significant pressure on health services. Indonesia faces challenges, one of which is providing oxygen supplies for patients suffering from COVID-19. Oxygen concentrator is one of the tools that can be used in the treatment of patients with COVID-19. Oxygen concentrator provides oxygen by taking in the surrounding air which contains various substances. The various contents of these substances will be separated to produce an oxygen purity level of more than 95 percent. The process of separating these substances is called Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA). In this research, the separation of oxygen by the PSA process used zeolite Li-LSX as an adsorbent. Numerical simulation of PSA was carried out using the Partial Differential Equation (PDE) method. The expected output is able to show the influence of the parameters on feed, waste, and product, and bed on the results of product composition. The results obtained 93 percent oxygen purity for validation with previous experiments. Experiment carried out on variations in bed height and cycle organizer time also affected the optimal oxygen purity at 150 cm bed height and 70 seconds cycle organizer time in the first and third steps.
