Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah pencarian informasi atas suatu saham melalui search engine, khususnya Google memiliki pengaruh dengan return atas saham tersebut. Penulis melakukan penelitian ini dengan menggunakan data sampel atas perusahaan yang termasuk di index LQ45 selama periode 2012-2015. Penulis menemukan bahwa pencarian atas saham melalui Google ternyata berpengaruh signifikan terhadap excess return atas saham tersebut, meskipun hubungannya negatif.

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine whether the search for information on a stock through search engines, especially Google have influence with return on these shares. The author conducted this study using sample data on the companies included in the index LQ45 during the period 2012 2015. The authors found that the search for the shares through Google were significantly affected to the excess return on the underlying share, despite a negative relationship.
