"[Jurnal ini membahas gambaran tayangan kekerasan pada film serial kartun Tom and Jerry. Pemilihan ini didasarkan pada anggapan umum bahwa kartun selama ini dianggap aman dan ditayangkan pada jam-jam aktivitas anak, namun konten film serial tersebut justru mengandung unsur kekerasan. Diharapkan, hasil analisis ini dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi orang tua untuk melakukan pengawasan terhadap tayangan anak dan bersikap selektif terhadap pemilihan program yang dikonsumsi oleh anak. Adapun teori yang menjadi dasar berpikir adalah teori Kultivasi dari Gerbner, khususnya menganalisis tahap pertama dari empat proses yang disebut message system analysis. Hasil penelitian menemukan adegan kekerasan dalam bentuk penyiksaan lebih dominan ditayangkan dalam film serial kartun, selain itu adegan sadis memiliki durasi lebih lama dengan diperlihatkan jelas proses tindakan kekerasan dan akibat bagi korban.;This journal discusses about portrayal of violence in cartoon as movie television series in Tom and Jerry. This selection is based on the common belief that cartoon has been considered as the safe program for child and aired during the hours of child’s activity, but on the other hand this series contain the violence matter. Hopefully this journal can become material for parent’s consideration for monitoring and being selective when choosing the television program that consumed by children. While, theoretical framework that used is Cultivation Theory from Gerbner, particularly analyzing the first step from four process that called “Message System Analysis”. "ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas jenis-jenis fukushi dan akan berfokus kepada chinjutsu fukushi. Chinjutsu fukushi merupakan jenis fukushi yang memiliki cara khusus dalam penggunaannya. Menurut Takamizawa, chinjutsu fukushi memiliki tujuh fungsi. Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk mengklasifikasikan data-data ke dalam fungsi-fungsi tersebut. Data yang dipergunakan diperoleh dari manga Tales of Symphonia volume 1 dan 2 dan akan dianalisis berdasarkan teori-teori dari sumber (terutama Sudjianto, Takamizawa, dan Mizutani) untuk diklasifikasikan ke dalam ketujuh jenis fungsi chinjutsu fukushi tersebut. Pada bagian analisis juga akan dijelaskan bagaimana latar belakang situasi (dialog sebelum dan sesudah, ekspresi, dan latar belakang tokoh) dan elipsis dapat mempengaruhi apakah suatu kata atau bahkan fukushi dapat dianggap sebagai chinjutsu fukushi.hr>ABSTRACTThis research revolves around the types of fukushi, which furthermore will focus on chinjutsu fukushi. Chinjutsu fukushi is a type of fukushi which needs a more specific way in order to use it. According to Takamizawa, there are seven types of functions in chinjutsu fukushi. The main point of this research is to classify the data into these functions. The data used for the research will be obtained from the manga: Tales of Symphonia book 1 and 2, and furthermore be analyzed based on the theories (mainly Sudjianto, Takamizawa, and Mizutani) to be classified into the seven functions of chinjutsu fukushi. In the analysis section, it is also explained as to how the analysis of situational background (dialogue occurring before and after, expression, and character background) and ellipsis could influence whether or not a word or even fukushi to be perceived as chinjutsu fukushi."
