"Pengembangan industri yang terjadi di Kabupaten Karawang mempunyai dampak positif yaitu memajukan ekonomi masyarakat. Selain itu, pengembangan industri tersebut juga mempunyai dampak yang buruk terhadap lingkungan. Salah satu dampak buruknya adalah produksi limbah yang semakin meningkat dan pembuangan limbah tersebut secara sembarangan, contohnya ke aliran sungai. Hal tersebut secara langsung dapat mempengaruhi kondisi fisik perairan di sungai tersebut dan secara tidak langsung berpengaruh terhadap persebaran klorofil-a. Klorofil-a merupakan zat hijau yang terdapat dalam fitoplankton. Fitoplankton merupakan organisme penting sebagai awal rantai makanan di laut yang berperan sebagai produsen. Fitoplankton dapat membuat makanannya sendiri melalui proses fotosintesis yang dibantu oleh cahaya matahari dan klorofil-a yang terkandung didalamnya untuk membentuk zat organik dan anorganik.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perubahan hubungan antara kondisi fisik perairan terhadap perubahan klorofil-a di Muara Ci Parage akibat pengembangan industri Kabupaten Karawang yang terjadi selama tahun 2014-2016. Kondisi fisik perairan yang dimaksud adalah suhu permukaan laut, salinitas, dan muatan padat tersuspensi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa persebaran klorofil-a mengalami penurunan yang cukup signifikan selama tahun 2014 - 2016.
Industrial development that occurred in Karawang has a positive impact that is advancing the economic society. In addition, the development of the industry also had a bad impact on the environment. One of the bad impact is increasing waste production and disposal of such waste in vain, for example to the flow of the river. It can directly affect the physical condition of the waters in the river and indirectly affect distribution of chlorophyll a. Chlorophyll a was a green substance found in phytoplankton. Phytoplankton is important organisms as the beginning of the food chain in the ocean that acts as the manufacturer. Phytoplankton can make its own food through the process of photosynthesis which aided by sunlight and chlorophyll a contained therein to establish organic and inorganic substances. This research aims to analyze the changes in the relationship between the physical condition of the waters to changes in chlorophyll a in the estuary of the Ci Parage result Karawang industrial development that occurred during the years 2014 2016. The physical condition of the waters in question are the sea surface temperature, salinity, and suspended solid loads. The results of this research show that the distribution of chlorophyll a significant decline over the years 2014 2016."

"Fitoplankton memiliki peran penting sebagai produsen primer dalam ekosistem perairan, karena mengandung pigmen klorofil yang diperlukan untuk fotosintesis. Klorofil-a diketahui menjadi pigmen utama dalam kloroplas yang menentukan fotosintesis. Kelimpahan fitoplankton diduga memiliki keterkaitan yang kuat dengan konsentrasi klorofil-a di perairan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kelimpahan fitoplankton dan konsentrasi klorofil-a di Situ Rawa Besar serta mengetahui divisi fitoplankton yang paling berpengaruh terhadap konsentrasi klorofil-a di Situ Rawa Besar. Penelitian berlangsung pada bulan Mei—Juni 2022. Pengambilan sampel terbagi atas 18 substasiun yang ditentukan berdasarkan purposive sampling. Pencacahan fitoplankton dilakukan dengan sedgwick-rafter counting chamber dan pengukuran klorofil-a dengan metode spektrofotometri. Adapun parameter fisika-kimia yang diukur meliputi arus, intensitas cahaya, kecerahan, suhu, dissolved oxygen (DO), nitrat, fosfat, dan pH. Data kelimpahan fitoplankton dan konsentrasi klorofil-a dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear sederhana. Analisis data kelimpahan setiap divisi fitoplankton dan konsentrasi klorofil-a menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kelimpahan fitoplankton di Situ Rawa Besar berada pada kisaran 11.672—22.528 plankter/L. Konsentrasi klorofil-a di Situ Rawa Besar berada pada kisaran 0,20—0,74 mg/L. Analisis data menunjukkan terdapat korelasi positif sangat kuat antara kelimpahan fitoplankton dan konsentrasi klorofil-a dengan koefisien korelasi (R) sebesar 0,821. Cyanophyta dan Chlorophyta merupakan divisi yang memiliki pengaruh paling besar terhadap konsentrasi klorofil-a di Situ Rawa Besar.
Phytoplankton has an essential role as a primary producer in aquatic ecosystems because it has chlorophyll pigment that needed for photosynthesis. Chlorophyll-a is the primary pigment in chloroplasts that determines photosynthesis. The abundance of phytoplankton is thought have a close relationship with chlorophyll-a concentration. The purpose of this reserch is to know the relationship between phytoplankton abundance with chlorophyll-a concentration in Situ Rawa Besar and to know the phytoplankton division that most influence on the concentration of chlorophyll-a in Situ Rawa Besar. This research started from Mei—June 2022. The sampling location divided into 18 substations based on purposive sampling. The counting of phytoplankton were carried out using Sedgwick rafter counting chamber and the measurement of chlorophyll-a use spectrophotometric method. The physic and chemical parameters were measure including current, light intensity, brightness, temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), nitrate, phosphate, and pH. Phytoplankton abundance and chlorophyll-a concentration were analyzed using simple linear regression. The data of phytoplankton abundance from each division and chlorophyll-a concentration were analyzed using multiple linear regression. Based on the results, the phytoplankton abundance in Situ Rawa Besar ranges from 11.672—22.528 plankter/L. Chlorophyll-a concentration in Situ Rawa Besar ranges from 0,20—0,74 mg/L. Data analysis shows a very close positive correlation between the abundance of phytoplankton and chlorophyll-a concentration in Situ Rawa Besar with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.821. Cyanophyta and Chlorophyta divisions are also known to affect the concentration of chlorophyll-a in Situ Rawa Besar significantly."

"Skipjack tuna is an important species targeting by pole and line fishery in Bone Bay. The distribution and abundance of this species tended to aggregate to the preferred bio-physical environments. To describe the short term relationship between skipjack tuna and oceanographic conditions and to visualize the predicted high catch areas, remotely sensed satellite based-oceanographic sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a together fisheries data were used. Results indicated that the highest skipjack CPUEs were mainly found in coastal areas of Palopo and Kolaka both in 2007 and in 2009 during the period of study. The high tuna concentrations corresponded well with chlorophyll-a of 0.15-0.40 mg mg-3 and SST of 29.0-31.5 °C. The preferred ranges provide a good indicator for initially detecting potential skipjack fishing grounds. This study suggested that thermal and chlorophyll fronts as well as upwelling may important mechanisms in explaining the temporal and spatial dynamics of skipjack tuna distribution and abundance in Bone Bay."
