Abstrak :
Struktur kristal, sifat panas, sifat magnet, dan juga ukuran kristal dari material fasa tunggal BiFeO3 yang dibuat dengan metode sol-gel telah diteliti. Kalsinasi pada temperatur 450°C, 500°C, dan 550°C selama 2, 6, dan 10 jam digunakan untuk memperoleh material dengan fasa tunggal. Pada temperatur 550oC selama 10 jam material fasa tunggal BiFeO3 terbentuk, sedangkan pada temperatur yang lain didapatkan fasa pengotor Bi2O3 dan Fe3O4. Analisa pola XRD menunjukkan struktur kristal dari material adalah heksagonal preovskite, dengan nilai parameter kisi yang turun seiring dengan kenaikan temperatur. Pada material dengan fasa tunggal, didapatkan nilai parameter kisi a=b=5.578Å, c=13.867Å. Ukuran kristal yang membesar seiring dengan kenaikan temperatur didapatkan dari perhitungan menggunakan Debye-Scherrer (19-56nm). Analisa TGA/DSC dari material menunjukkan perubahan struktur fasa yang terjadi dari temperatur 450°C-550°C. Sifat magnetic material dapat dilihat dari hasil uji alat permagraph berupa kurva histerisis yang menunjukkan material memiliki sifat feromagnetik pada temperatur ruang.
The structural, thermal, magnetization properties, and also crystal size of BiFeO3 single-phase materials synthesized by sol-gel method using citric acid as a fuel was investigated. Materials were calcined at 450°C, 500°C, 550°C for 2, 6, and 10 hours to obtain single-phase material. BiFeO3 single-phase materials formed at 550oC for 10 hour, meanwhile on the other temperature Bi2O3 and Fe3O4 present as impurities. From X-ray diffractometer pattern analysis it seen that crystallite size of hexagonal perovskite BiFeO3 single-phase materials increases with increasing calcination temperature (19-56 nm). As the crystallite size increase with increasing temperature the lattice parameter decreases, for single-phase BiFeO3 a=b=5.578Å, c=13.867Å. TGA/DSC analysis of the materials shows a structural phase change form at 450°C - 550°C. In addition to magnetic behavior of material was evaluated by permagraph. The hysteresis loops indicate ferromagnetic behavior in BiFeO3 at room temperature.
