ABSTRACT
Buah mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia L) memiliki kandungan ursolic acid dan 3,3’-bisdemethylpinoresinol yang berfungsi untuk mencegah terbentuknya kerutan pada kulit. Masker wajah hidrogel merupakan alternatif produk perawatan kulit untuk mengatasi kerutan. Ekstrak etanol buah mengkudu 0,1% diformulasikan menjadi produk masker wajah hidrogel dengan menggunakan basis natrium alginat 4% dan xanthan gum 0,5%. Masker wajah hidrogel dievaluasi stabilitas secara fisik melalui pengamatan organoleptis, pengujian konsistensi, daya mengembang, dan kekuatan peregangan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan masker wajah hidrogel memiliki kemampuan menahan air yang baik, kekuatan peregangan 35,6524 ± 0,8842 kgf/cm2, elongasi 272,00 ± 4,47%, dan tidak mengalami perubahan organoleptis selama 12 minggu penyimpanan. Pada penelitian ini dihasilkan masker wajah hidrogel yang mengandung ekstrak buah mengkudu dengan karakteristik yang baik dan stabil secara fisik dalam penyimpanan sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai produk perawatan kulit nutrakosmesetika.

Noni (Morinda citrifolia L) fruit contains ursolic acid dan 3,3’ bisdemethylpinoresinol has function as an anti-wrinkle agent. Hydrogel face mask is an alternative for skin care product. In this study, 0.1 % ethanol extract of noni fruit was formulated with concentration of 4% sodium alginate and 0.5% xanthan gum to form hydrogel face mask. Physical stability of hydrogel face mask evaluated by organoleptic observation, consistency, swelling index, and mechanical strength. The results showed that hydrogel face mask has good water holding capacity, tensile strength of 35.6524 ± 0.8842 kgf/cm2, elongation rate of 272.00 ± 4.47%, and stable in colour and odour for 12 weeks. This study revealed that hydrogel face mask which contains ethanol extract of noni fruit has good physical characteristic and stability, and thus good enough to be used as nutracosmeceutical product.
