Korean dance is a tradition that includes every form of contemporary dance in the country, from shamanistic to folk, court to modern traditional dance, and even breakdancing. Over the past several centuries, each of these unique dance forms has attempted to convey the Korean psyche. This book aims to examine Korean dance from its primitive roots to the complex court rituals and on to the pop culture styles of today. What sets Korean dance apart from that of other cultures will also be explored. Finally, readers will be able to delve into its broad range of forms and long history and gain a better understanding of its role in society"

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan adanya eksploitasi seksualitas dalamKorean Pop Music Video terutama dalam music video ‘Marionette’ dari Stellar,‘Something’ dari Girl’s Day, ‘New Era’ dari Phantom dan ‘A.D.T.O.Y’ dari 2PM.Analisis berfokus pada bagaimana bentuk-bentuk eksploitasi seksualitas yangditampilkan dalam keempat music video tersebut, lalu melanjutkannya pada levelmakna denotatif dan konotatif serta mitos yang dibangun. Penelitian ini merupakanpenelitian kualitatif dan menggunakan analisis semiotika milik Roland Barthes yangmempunyai sistem pertandaan bertingkat, denotasi dan konotasi, serta berujung padasebuah mitos. Analisis dimulai dengan membaca tanda-tanda eksploitasi seksualitasyang ada di dalam music video kemudian mengungkap makna konotatifnya. Dari situterlihat mitos yang dibangun dan yang tersembunyi di dalamnya. Mitos-mitos yangteridentifikasi yaitu perempuan ditampilkan sebagai objek dan laki-laki sebagaisubjeknya; ketika laki-laki berlaku sebagai objek, ia ditampilkan sebagai laki-lakiyang maskulin dan mempunyai bentuk tubuh ideal yang menggambarkan kejantanandan kelelakiannya. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa eksploitasi seksualitasdalam Korean Pop Music Video mempunyai beberapa ideologi yang dibawa yaituideologi kapitalisme, patriarki, dan maskulinitas di mana ideologi-ideologi tersebutmemojokkan kaum perempuan

ABSTRAKThis research aims to find the exploitation of sexuality in Korean Pop Music Video,especially in the music video 'Marionette' by Stellar, 'Something' by Girl's Day, 'NewEra' by Phantom and 'ADTOY' by 2PM. The analysis focuses on how the forms ofsexuality exploitation shown in the fourth music video, then continue at the level ofdenotative and connotative meanings, also the myths that are constructed in it. Thisresearch is qualitative and uses semiotic analysis from Roland Barthes who havemultilevel signification system, denotation and connotation, and culminate in a myth.The analysis begins with reading the signs of sexuality exploitation that is in themusic video then uncover connotative meaning. From there, it’ll looks the myths thatare constructed and hidden in it. The myths which identified are women whodisplayed as objects meanwhile men as the subject; when men as the object, they’redisplayed as a masculine man and having an ideal body shape that describesmasculinity and manhood. The research concluded that the exploitation of sexualityin Korean Pop Music Video has brought some ideologies which are the ideology ofcapitalism, patriarchy and masculinity in which these ideologies discredit women."
