"Saat terjadi malapraktik medis yang disebabkan oleh adanya misdiagnosis dari dokter di rumah sakit, masyarakat bingung untuk menentukan apakah tindakan misdiagnosis dapat digugat ke pengadilan. Lebih daripada itu, masyarakat dibuat bingung dalam penujuan gugatan tersebut, dikarenakan adanya saling lempar tanggung jawab antara dokter dengan rumah sakit. Penulis akan membahas mengenai persyaratan untuk sebuah misdiagnosis dapat dikategorikan sebagai sebuah tindakan malapraktik, lebih jauh sebagai perbuatan melawan hukum, dan pihak manakah yang harus bertanggung jawab atas terjadinya perbuatan melawan hukum tersebut, dengan cara membandingkan beberapa doktrin dan peraturan perundang-undangan di Indonesia. Sebagai perbandingan, Penulis menggunakan putusan Mahkamah Agung No. 515PK/Pdt/2011 terkait misdiagnosis medis yang terjadi di rumah sakit. ......When there is a medical malpractice caused by misdiagnosis conducted by a doctor in the hospital, people are confused to determine whether the actions of misdiagnosis can be sued to the court. More than that, the publics confused in addressing the lawsuit, due to doctor and hospital are throwing responsibility each other. The author will discuss the requirements for a misdiagnosis can be categorized as an act of malpractice, so far as tort, and which of the parties shall be responsible for the occurrence of the unlawful act by comparing several doctrines, laws and regulations in Indonesia. For comparison, the author use the Indonesia Supreme Court decision No. 515PK/Pdt/2011 related to medical misdiagnosis that occurred in the hospital."

"Diagnostic errors are important in all branches of medicine because they are an indication of poor patient care. As the number of malpractice cases continues to grow, radiologists will become increasingly involved in litigation. The aetiology of radiological error is multi-factorial. This book focuses on (1) some medico-legal aspects inherent to radiology (radiation exposure related to imaging procedures and malpractice issues related to contrast media administration are discussed in detail) and on (2) the spectrum of diagnostic errors in radiology. "The author reviews the changing diagnostic concepts of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder with a historical perspective to clarify how the current conflict over explanations for psychosis has arisen. That two disorders, schizophrenia and bipolar, known as the Kraepelinian dichotomy, account for the functional psychoses has been a cornerstone of Psychiatry for over 100 years, but is questioned because of substantial similarities and overlap between these two disorders. Literature in the field demonstrates that psychotic patients are frequently misdiagnosed as suffering from the disease called schizophrenia when they suffer from a psychotic mood disorder. Such patients, their families, and their caretakers suffer significant disadvantages from the misdiagnosis. Psychotic patients misdiagnosed with schizophrenia receive substandard care regarding their medications, thus allowing their bipolar conditions to worsen. Other adverse effects are substantial and will be included. Liability for medical malpractice is of critical importance for the mental health professionals who make the majority of the diagnoses of schizophrenia. The concept put forward in this work will have a discipline-altering impact."
