"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami mekanisme panoptik digital dalam pengawasan melalui media sosial. Industri transportasi publik mengalami berbagai dinamika dan perubahan dalam operasinya, salah satunya pada perilaku penumpang. Pengguna transportasi dapat memanfaatkan media sosial untuk mengawasi operasi moda transportasi publik, khususnya MRT Jakarta dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa media sosial sebagai tempat yang ideal untuk melakukan pengawasan, di mana kekuasaan-pengetahuan beroperasi di dalamnya dan menciptakan mekanisme panoptik digital. Panoptikon digital memungkinkan pengawasan terhadap operasi MRT Jakarta berjalan secara efektif. Secara umum, penelitian ini dapat memberikan gambaran untuk memahami mekanisme panoptik yang terjadi pada konteks masyarakat digital.

ABSTRACTThis study aims to understand the work of panoptic as a surveillance mechanism in the digital space, focusing on social media. The public transportation industry has encountered various dynamics, internal and external changes of its operation, one of which is the behavior of passengers. Social media users can now utilize social media to monitor the operation of public transportation, especially the MRT Jakarta in this study. The results found that the characteristics of social media have rendered an ideal means for surveillance, where power and knowledge reside to facilitate a panoptic mechanism. It is suggested digital panopticon enables the supervision of MRT Jakarta to work effectively. This study also offers a framework to understand the work of panoptic in a digital society."

"Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan intimasi yang terbentuk melalui kencan buta dan kencan kilat secara virtual. Studi-studi sebelumnya terkait kencan buta banyak berfokus pada aplikasi kencan online, yaitu bagaimana individu membentuk citra diri secara visual, persepsi mereka, serta wujud dari komodifikasi cinta dan kesepian. Berbeda dengan ciri khas kencan online, Virtual Blind Date membatasi individu secara visual dan membatasi Individu untuk memilih pasangannya sendiri. Individu hanya bisa membangun hubungan dalam waktu 15 menit dan melalui telepon suara saja. Peneliti berargumen bahwa intimasi yang dikembangkan melalui Virtual Blind Date berpotensi menjadi confluent love karena interaksinya yang cenderung netral gender melalui obrolan yang mengutamakan usaha (respon) resiprokal, penilaian terhadap pasangan yang bersifat reflektif terhadap keinginan/ kriteria individual, hubungan yang rapuh, dan peserta memiliki kemampuan untuk melanjutkan atau tidak melanjutkan interaksi. Sehingga, pembentukan intimasi dalam waktu singkat tersebut sesuai dengan karakteristik confluent love. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui observasi partisipatoris dan wawancara mendalam para partisipan di @VirtuaBlindDate.

The purpose of this study is to explain the intimacy that is formed through blind dating and virtual speed dating. Previous studies related to blind dating have mostly focused on online dating applications, namely how individuals form a visual self-image, their perception, and the manifestation of the commodification of love and loneliness. In contrast to the characteristics of online dating, Virtual Blind Date limits the participant to choose their partner. Individuals can only build relationships within 15 minutes and via voice calls. The researcher argues that intimacy developed through Virtual Blind Date has the potential to become confluent love because of its gender-neutral interactions through conversations that prioritize reciprocal efforts (responses), reflective assessments of their partners based on individual desires/criteria, fragile relationships, and participants' choice to continue or discontinue the interaction. Thus, the formation of intimacy in a short time is following the characteristics of confluent love. This study uses a qualitative approach through participatory observation and in-depth interviews with participants at @VirtuaBlindDate."
