"Hallyu adalah sebuah istilah yang mengacu kepada fenomena budaya populer Korea yang sekarang sudah mendunia. Drama Korea merupakan salah satu produk hallyu yang terkenal. Seiring berjalannya waktu, kemajuan teknologi semakin mempermudah akses masyarakat terhadap drama Korea. Drama Korea pun tidak hanya dijadikan sebagai media hiburan saja, namun dapat dijadikan media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini akan membahas mengenai pengaruh drama Korea terhadap minat belajar bahasa dan kebudayaan Korea di kalangan masyarakat umum. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian studi literatur dan survei. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori Media Effect, yaitu Uses and Gratification. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa drama Korea dapat memicu munculnya minat untuk mempelajari sesuatu. Minat yang biasanya muncul setelah menonton drama Korea di antaranya adalah minat untuk mempelajari bahasa dan kebudayaan Korea serta minat untuk berwisata ke Korea.

Over time, advances in technology have made it easier for people to access Korean dramas. Korean drama is not only used as a medium of entertainment but can be used as a learning medium. This research will discuss about the effect of Korean drama and interest in learning Korean language and culture among the general public. This is a quantitative descriptive research with a literature study and survey research design. The theory used in this study is the theory of Media Effects, Uses and Gratification. The results of this study indicate that Korean drama can trigger an interest in learning something. Interests that usually arise after watching Korean dramas include interest in learning Korean language and culture and an interest in traveling to Korea."

"Isu ketidaksetaraan gender pada perempuan masih menjadi persoalan yang kompleks di masyarakat Korea, salah satunya berdampak pada perempuan bekerja. Meskipun persentase perempuan pekerja secara relatif meningkat, namun diskriminasi masih dirasakan oleh banyak working mom. Melalui drama Korea 18 Again (2020), penelitian ini mencoba untuk membongkar bagaimana isu marginalisasi working mom direpresentasikan dalam tontonan telvisi Korea. Peneliti menggunakan teori sinema Boggs dan Petrie (2008) untuk menganalisis narasi teks film dan mise en scene yang menghadirkan permasalahan working mom. Kemudian, teori peran gender dan ketidakadilan gender dari Fakih (2013) digunakan untuk melihat konstruksi pemaknaan working mom yang coba dibangun oleh drama ini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa praktik marginalisasi pada working mom dalam drama, yaitu: domestifikasi perempuan, beban kerja ganda, stereotip usia, dan stigma bercerai pada perempuan. Drama juga memperlihatkan bahwa meskipun dikonstruksi sebagai super mom, namun tokoh working mom nyatanya masih membutuhkan bantuan suara dari tokoh lain dalam menyuarakan marginalisasi yang dialaminya. Hal ini berkaitan dengan realitas masyarakat Korea yang masih banyak didominasi oleh sistem patriarki.

The issue of gender inequality among women is still a complex issue in Korean society, one of which has an impact on working women. Even though the percentage of working women is relatively increasing, many working moms still feel discrimination. Through the Korean drama 18 Again (2020), this study tries to uncover how the issue of marginalization of working moms is represented in Korean television viewing. The researcher uses the cinema theory of Boggs and Petrie (2008) to analyze the narrative text of the film and the mise en scene that presents the problem of working moms. Then, the theory of gender roles and gender inequality from Fakih (2013) is used to see the construction of the meaning of the working mom that this drama is trying to build. Results of the analysis show that there are several marginalization practices for working moms in dramas, namely: domestication of women, double workload, age stereotypes, and the stigma of divorce on women. The drama also shows that even though it is constructed as a super mom, the working mom character still needs voice assistance from other characters in voicing the marginalization she is experiencing. This is related to the reality of Korean society which is still dominated by a patriarchal system."

"Penelitian ini membahas mengenai ketimpangan gender yang ada di dalam drama Korea Because This Is My First Life. Drama tersebut dianggap menarik karena memiliki alur yang ringan tetapi membahas masalah ketimpangan gender yang masih menjadi isu sensitif di Korea. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bentuk-bentuk ketimpangan gender apa sajakah yang ada di dalam drama ini, serta bagaimana realitas gender yang ada di Korea. Hasil penelitian ini menampilkan bahwa isu ketimpangan gender yang ada di Korea merupakan hasil dari ajaran Konfusianisme yang memang menjadi landasan dalam setiap sektor kehidupan di Korea. Ajaran konfusianisme menjadi faktor sistem patriarki dan pandangan bahwa laki-laki berada diatas perempuan. Ada 5 manifestasi isu ketimpangan gender yang ditemukan di dalam drama ini yaitu marjinalisasi, stereotip, subordinasi, kekerasan atau pelecehan, serta beban ganda. Ketimpangan gender banyak terjadi di lingkungan keluarga dan juga lingkungan kerja.

This study discusses gender in the Korean drama Because This Is My First Life. The drama is considered interesting because it has a light plot but discusses gender issues which are still a sensitive issue in Korea. This study aims to see what forms of gender exist in this drama, as well as what gender reality is in Korea. The results of this study show that gender issues that exist in Korea are from Confucianism philosophy which are indeed the foundation in every sector of life in Korea. Confucianism is a factor in the patriarchal system and the view that men are superior than women. There are 5 manifestations of gender issues found in this drama, namely marginalization, stereotypes, subordination, violence, and double burdens. Gender inequality often occurs in the family environment as well as in the work environment."

"ABSTRAKJurnal ini membahas tentang peran seorang ibu tunggal dalan membesarkan anaknya seorang diri pada webtoon Wemo Jisangjui. Ibu tunggal adalah seorang perempuan yang memikul tanggung jawab secara tunggal menghidupi keluarganya. Berbagai permasalahan akan ditemui ibu tunggal dalam upayanya menghidupi dirinya serta anak-anaknya. Struktur pembentuk karakteristik ibu tunggal adalah struktur tugas, struktur komunikasi, struktur kekuasaan, dan struktur afeksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya ibu tunggal dari sektor ekonomi menengah ke bawah dalam membesarkan anak dan menghadapi keraguan dari keluarga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif dengan mencari data penelitian dari studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak apapun permasalahan yang dihadapi seorang ibu tunggal, mulai dari masalah ekonomi, tekanan dari keluarga mantan/mendiang suami, dominasi anak dalam keluarga, dan rasa kesepian yang dialami, akan menjadikannya lebih kuat dalam menjalani kehidupannya bersama anak-anaknya.

ABSTRACTThis journal discuss about the role of a single mother to raise her children by herself on the Wemo Jisangjui webtoon. Single mother is a woman who takes responsibility to support her family. Various problems will be encountered by a single mother in her efforts to support herself and her children. The forming structure of single mother characteristics are task structure, communication structure, power structure, and affection structure. This study aims to determine the single mother 39;s from low-middle economic social class in raising children and facing the doubts in family. The research method use qualitative method by founding research data from literature study. The results of this study indicate that no matter how many problems a single mother faces, even from economic problems, the pressure of the former family/late husband, the dominancy of the children in the family, and the sense of loneliness, will make her stronger for living her life with her children."
