Artikel ini bertujuan merunut ulang gagasan gaya hidup kontemporer terkait konsumerisme dan minimalisme, karena dengan mengikuti navigasi dari kedua gaya hidup tersebut berakibat pada hilangnya kebahagiaan dalam batin manusia. Tulisan ini merupakan deskripsi analitis terhadap relevansi filsafat dalam membaca gaya hidup konsumsi, khususnya dalam pemikiran John Lachs mengenai Pragmatisme Stoik, serta mendemonstrasikan urgensinya dalam membaca fenomena konsumerisme dan minimalisme dengan konteksnya yaitu hasrat dan kebahagiaan. Tulisan berargumen bahwa di tengah gaya hidup yang bersifat absolut, diperlukan suatu gaya hidup yang lebih fluktuatif dan praktis, Pragmatisme Stoik dipakai sebagai lensa dalam mengarahkan manusia pada ketenangan melalui penanganan internalnya. Untuk sampai pada tujuan itu, tulisan ini akan menggunakan metode analisis kritis dan distingsi konseptual. Tulisan akan menyaring konsep inti serta masalah yang ditimbulkan dari konsumerisme dan minimalisme dalam konteks hasrat dan kebahagiaan. Kemudian mendeskripsikan gagasan Pragmatisme Stoik dan relevansinya, barulah analisis kritis dilakukan dengan membaca kedua gaya hidup tersebut menggunakan lensa Pragmatisme Stoik. Hasilnya, ditemukan gaya hidup baru yang melampaui keduanya yakni eksperientalisme, tetapi ini tidak sepenuhnya benar sehingga diperlukan Pragmatisme Stoik sebagai pelurus agar setiap orang tetap hidup dalam hasratnya, namun kali ini yang ditekankan ialah hasrat yang lurus dan selaras.

This article aims to recount the contemporary lifestyle ideas related to consumerism and minimalism, because following the navigation of the two lifestyles results in a loss of happiness in human soul. This paper is an analytical description of the relevance of philosophy in reading the lifestyle of consumption, especially in John Lachs' thoughts on Stoic Pragmatism, and demonstrates the urgency of reading the phenomenon of consumerism and minimalism in the context of desire and happiness. The paper argues that in the midst of an absolute lifestyle, a more fluctuating and practical lifestyle is needed, Stoic Pragmatism is used as a lens in directing humans to tranquility through its internal handling. In order to achieve this goal, this paper will use critical analysis methods and conceptual distinctions. Writing will distill core concepts and problems arising from consumerism and minimalism in the context of desire and happiness. Then, to describe the idea of ​​Stoic Pragmatism and its relevance, then a critical analysis is carried out by reading the two lifestyles using the lens of Stoic Pragmatism. As a result, a new lifestyle was found that goes beyond two, namely experimentalism, but this was not entirely true so that Stoic Pragmatism was needed as a straightener so that everyone could continue to live in their desires, but this time what was emphasized was straight and harmonious desires.
