This study decomposes the growth of Indonesia`s export into three parts: extensive margin, price and quantity. From 1993 to 2013, Indonesia`s export growth was mainly driven by price growth, which accounts for about 85% of overall export growth. This result is robust for different partners and different industries. Even in different sub-periods, Indonesia`s export is highly affected by price effect and thus sensitive to business cycle. The high contribution of price effect cannot be related to product quality, since Indonesia`s export is highly concentrated on primary products and also significant depreciation of Rupiah.
