Abstrak :
Subjektivitas adalah konsep identitas diri yang berkaitan dengan cara pandang mengenai diri dan relasinya dengan struktur sosial tempatnya berada. Disertasi ini mengungkapkan ambivalensi subjektivitas tokoh anak dalam empat film anak –Laskar Pelangi, Serdadu Kumbang, Lima Elang, dan Langit Biru. Melalui pendekatan strukturalisme dan analisis sistem formal dari Bordwell dan Thompson (2008), ditemukan ambivalensi  struktur teks dan strategi naratif yang di satu sisi memosisikan tokoh anak sebagai subjek, tetapi di sisi lain dibatasi dengan kondisi tertentu, yaitu ketidakhadiran atau campur tangan tokoh dewasa, keberadaan di ruang terbuka, serta kehendak yang berorientasi kelompok. Analisis lebih jauh dengan menggunakan teori kuasa disiplin Foucault (1995) menemukan bahwa walaupun keterampilan literasi dapat menggeser dominasi kuasa dewasa dan negosiasi posisi dimungkinkan untuk sementara waktu, subjektivitas tokoh anak pada umumnya dikonstruksi melalui pendisiplinan dalam praktik sosial. Pendisiplinan ini melatih anak untuk selalu memperhatikan aspek budaya yang dianggap penting. Akibatnya, subjektivitas yang dikonstruksi ini mendorong tokoh anak untuk mematuhi aturan yang berlaku, mengedepankan kepentingan kelompok, dan menghindari perbedaan. Subjektivitas yang ambivalen ini mengisyaratkan film anak Indonesia memandang anak-anak sebagai manusia yang defisien atau kurang sempurna sebagai manusia sehingga harus dibimbing dan diberi pengarahan, tetapi kurang memperhatikan potensi emosi dan intelektual yang dimiliki anak-anak. ......The notion of subjectivity is a concept of personal identity which deals with the self and its relations to the social structures. This dissertation reveals the ambivalent construction of child character subjectivity in four Indonesian children’s films: Laskar Pelangi, Serdadu Kumbang, Lima Elang, dan Langit Biru. Employing structuralism approach and system formal analysis form Bordwell and Thompson (2008), it is found that textual structure and narrative strategies are ambivalent because they position child characters as subjects, but only under certain conditions: the absence or without involvement of adult characters, in open space, and group-oriented. Further analysis using Foucault theory of power and governmentality (1995) found that although literacy is the child's potential skill to shift adult's dominant power and negotiating positions take place temporarily, the child character's subjectivity is generally constructed through discipline in social practices in order to train children to take cultural aspects deemed important into consideration. Consequently, the constructed subjectivity is submissive children who obey the expected norms, prioritize group's interests, and avoid differences. This ambivalent subjectivity suggests that Indonesian children's films view children as deficient and so in need of guidance and instruction despite their emotional and intellectual potentials.

Abstrak :
Skripsi ini membahas tentang penerjemahan pronomina persona dalam subtitle Film The Little Focker yang disutradarai oleh Paul Weitz. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis akan melihat bagaimana pronomina persona bahasa Inggris diterjemahkan ke dalam subtitle bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini juga akan melihat apakah penerjemahan tersebut mengakibatkan terjadinya perubahan ragam. Penulis mengaitkan teori S-P-E-A-K-I-N-G Hymes dan solidaritas dan kekuasaan Brown dan Gilman untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi pemilihan penggunaan pronomina dalam suatu tuturan. Penulis juga akan menggunakan teori penerjemahan audio-visual Cintas untuk melihat bagaimana format subtitle berpengaruh terhadap terjemahan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerjemahan pronomina persona ke dalam subtitle bahasa Indonesia banyak yang tidak mengikuti kaidah berbahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar dikarenakan harus memenuhi keterbatasan ruang untuk subtitle itu sendiri dan sebagai akibatnya terjadi pergeseran ragam antara dialog asli dengan subtitle bahasa Indonesia. ......This study discusses the personal pronoun translation on the subtitle of the movie The Little Focker which is directed by Paul Weitz. The research method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. In this study, the researcher identifies the process of how English personal pronoun is translated into Bahasa Indonesia subtitle. In addition, this study also identifies whether the translation process results the changes on the manner. The researcher links the theory of S-P-E-A-K-I-N-G by Hymes and solidarity and power by Brown and Gilman to find out what factors are influencing the selection of the use of pronouns in an utterance. Another theory used in this study is the theory of audio-visual translation by Cintas to see how the subtitle format affects the translations. The result of the study shows that many of the personal pronoun translations to Bahasa Indonesia subtitle do not follow the principle of formal Bahasa Indonesia as a result of limited space on the subtitle itself. The consequence is the shifting of manner from the actual dialogue to the Bahasa Indonesia subtitle.

Abstrak :
Skripsi ini menganalisis dekonstruksi yang terjadi dalam film animasi bergenre superhero, Megamind. Melalui perbandingan antara film ini dengan film-film superhero klasik, diperoleh hasil bahwa film ini telah medekonstruksi konvensi cerita superhero dalam aspek penokohan, alur cerita, dan sudut pandang. Namun, melalui pengkajian postkolonialisme dan gender, upaya dekonstruksi dalam film ini mengandung dualisme. Pada satu sisi, upaya tersebut terlihat telah melawan supremasi kulit putih serta nilai maskulinitas dan femininitas konvensional yang kerap kali muncul dalam film superhero pada umumnya. Tapi, di sisi lain, terjadi ambivalensi dalam upaya dekonstruksi tersebut karena pada akhirnya malah menekankan pola-pola tersebut. Lebih lanjut, dekonstruksi tersebut ternyata bertujuan untuk merekonstruksi konsep hero yang berbeda. Melalui tokoh Megamind, terdapat beberapa hal yang berusaha ditekankan yaitu proses untuk menjadi hero dan kekuatan yang tidak sekedar mengandalkan fisik. ......This undergraduate thesis analyses the deconstruction which happens in Megamind, an animated superhero movie. By comparing this movie and several classic superhero movies, it can be concluded that Megamind has changed the basic convention of superhero stories through its characters, plot, and point of view. However, there is a dualism meaning in the deconstruction. On one hand, this movie seems to oppose the white supremacy, and also the conventional masculinities and femininities which usually can be seen in superhero movies in general. On the other hand, it also confirms those values again. Furthermore, the movie reconstructs different concept of hero as the result of the ambivalence in the deconstruction. Megamind shows some hero's qualities that rarely appear in the classic superhero movies such as the process to be a hero and other kind of powers beside the physical power.

Skripsi ini merupakan pendekatan filosofis terhadap pilihan identitas atas kecantikan perempuan yang dikonstruksi oleh beberapa ideologi dan dikaitkan dengan derasnya arus informasi yang disodorkan oleh beberapa media elektronik, film khususnya. Kondisi ini membawa kita pada satu bentuk fenomena budaya, yang oleh Jean Baudrillard dikatakan sebagai fenomena budaya hiperrealitas. Berbeda dengan pengkajian budaya, telaah filosofis menaruh perhatian pada kondisi individu yang otonom. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara membedah fenomena hiperrealitas dengan hipersemiotika sebagai pisau bedahnya. ......This undergraduated thesis is a philosophical approach of the female beauty identity selection that is constructed by some of the ideology and associated with a rapid flow of information offered by some of the electronic media, especially movies. This condition leads to a cultural phenomena that Jean Baudrillard said as the cultural phenomenon of hyperreality. Unlike the assessment of cultural, philosophical study concerns with the conditions of the autonomous individual. Research has been done by dissecting the phenomenon of hyperreality with hypersemiotic as the scalpel.

Abstrak :
Film dengan genre animasi memiliki daya tarik tersendiri. Film animasi dapat merepresentasikan unsur kebudayaan suatu bangsa dengan grafis yang beragam dan menarik. Salah satu film yang merepresentasikan budaya Cina antara lain adalah Film Turning Red '青春变形记' (Qīngchūn biànxíng jì) (2020). Representasi budaya Cina dalam film Turning Red menampilkan unsur-unsur ajaran Konfusianisme dalam hubungan keluarga. Konfusianisme merupakan salah satu unsur kebudayaan Cina yang berisi falsafah hidup bagi etnis Cina baik yang tinggal di daratan Cina, maupun di luar daratan Cina. Dalam Konfusianisme terdapat konsep harmonisasi sebagai unsur bijak manusia antara lain Ren 仁 (kemanusiaan), Yi 義 (kebajikan/keadilan), Li 礼 (etika), Zhi 知 (pengetahuan), Xin 信 (integritas), Zhong 忠 (kesetiaan), 孝 (Xiào) (bakti kepada orang tua). Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengetahui bagaimana representasi Xiao pada film animasi berjudul Turning Red melalui penokohan Meilin Lee, Ming Lee, dan Wu. Melalui metode kualitatif, penelitian ini akan mengungkapkan bagaimana bentuk representasi konsep Xiao yang ditunjukan pada film Turning Red melalui adegan tokoh-tokoh pada film. Melalui pendekatan deskriptif, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa konsep Xiao merupakan faktor penting dalam membangun alur dan penokohan dalam film ini. ......Films with the animation genre have their own charm. Animated films can represent elements of a nation's culture with diverse and attractive graphics. One of the films that represents Chinese culture is Turning Red '青春变形记' (Qīngchūn biànxíng jì) (2020).The representation of Chinese culture in the film Turning Red displays elements of Confucianism in family relationships. Confucianism is one of the elements of Chinese culture which contains a philosophy of life for ethnic Chinese both living in mainland China and outside mainland China. In Confucianism there is the concept of harmonization as a wise human element, including Ren 仁 (humanity), Yi 義 (virtue/justice), Li 礼 (ethics), Zhi 知 (knowledge), Xin 信 (integrity), Zhong 忠 (loyalty), 孝 (Xiào) (filial piety). This study intends to find out how Xiao is represented in the animated film Turning Red through the characterizations of Meilin Lee, Ming Lee, and Wu. Through qualitative methods, this study will reveal how the form of representation of Xiao's concept is shown in the film Turning Red through the scenes of the characters in the film. Through a descriptive approach, this research finds that Xiao's concept is an important factor in developing the plot and characterizations in this film.
