ABSTRACTPenelitian ini membahas modal sosial dan bagaimana nelayan pandega memanfaatkan modal sosial untuk bertahan hidup di Desa Teluk, Kecamatan Labuan, Kabupaten Paneglang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat dua jenis modal sosial yaitu, modal sosial terkait operasi penangkapan ikan (melaut), dan modal sosial ketika sedang tidak melaut. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa modal sosial dapat meningkatkan semangat bekerja yang berpengaruh pada kemampuan bertahan hidup dalam kondisi rentan, serta meningkatkan partisipasi terhadap program pemberdayaan masyarakat nelayan.
ABSTRACTThis study aims to explain how pandega fishermen utilize their social capital to survive in Desa Teluk, Kecamatan Labuan, Kabupaten Pandeglang, using descriptive qualitative method. The result shows that there are two types of social capital, they are social capital related to when they are going fishing to the sea and social capital related to when they are not. In addition, it is found that social capital can enhance the fishermens passion to work that also can affect their surviving skills when in vulnerable condition, and improve their participation in fishermen community empowering programs."
