"ABSTRAKFungsi Spherical Bessel merupakan solusi dari persamaan diferensial Spherical Bessel yang banyak digunakan dalam mekanika kuantum yang membahas gerak partikel di dalam bola dan pada masalah geomagnetic field. Beberapa perangkat lunak telah menyediakan program untuk menghitung nilai fungsi Spherical Bessel. Dalam skripsi ini akan diturunkan persamaan skalar Helmholtz dalam koordinat bola sehingga diperoleh persamaan diferensial Spherical Bessel dan solusinya berupa fungsi Spherical Bessel. Program komputer akan dibuat untuk menghitung nilai aproksimasi dari fungsi Spherical Bessel dan membandingkannya dengan nilai aproksimasi dari fungsi Spherical Bessel yang ada pada perangkat lunak.

ABSTRACTSpherical Bessel function is a solution of Spherical Bessel differential equation that is used to describe the motion of particles in a sphere and in geomagnetic field problems. Some software provide programs to calculate the value of the Spherical Bessel function. In this final report, the Spherical Bessel differential equation is derived from the scalar Helmholtz equation in spherical coordinates and the solution is called Spherical Bessel function. A program is also made to calculate the approximation of Spherical Bessel function and compare it with the approximation value of Spherical Bessel function existing in the software."
